The Lady of the Angel's Center was getting the HVAC system updated, so it was off-limits for a while. This morning, Friday, October 18, at 10 a.m., we gathered there to celebrate mass with Fr. Vincent!

Fr. Vincent told us that today is the Feast of St. Luke. "[He] was a native of Antioch in Syria and a physician, and companion of St. Paul, whose gospel preserved the most extensive biography of Jesus Christ." -catholicculture.com Fr. Vincent asked our students about what the words kingdom and evangelist means. We had a lot of students with great answers! We would like to give a special thanks to Mr. Anthony Cancro for playing the piano, Mrs. Kennedy for preparing the 4th grade students who sang, our 8th graders who read petitions and the scriptures, and our altar boys. Everybody did a great job. 💙💛

Middle School Dance Tonight!

The 8th graders are hosting our first Middle School dance tomorrow from 6:00 to 8:00 in the gym! The theme is "Knight Club" and we will be featuring a Mystery DJ. The entry fee is $5.00 which includes one light up accessory and snacks. We will also have pizza for sale - $2.00 per slice or a combo with 2 slices and a drink for $5.00. Extra accessories will also be for sale at $1.00 each. Pink Out Day!

Last Thursday, October 17, we celebrated our Pink Out Day-Out of Uniform event and our students dressed with all of the shades of pink possible! Thank you to the students and parents who donated for our Cancer Awareness Month Camping. All proceeds collected from your donations will be donated to Ms. Corradini, our preschool teacher assistant who is battling cancer. Please keep her and her family in your prayers 🙏

Schools Helping Schools - Benefit Hurricane Helene Victims

The Diocese of Raleigh is partnering with the Diocese of Charlotte, as many of the schools have been impacted by Hurricane Helene. The campaign “Schools Help Schools” will go through the month of October. Our pledge goal is to raise $3000 as a school. We have always been a generous community, and we hope we can raise that amount. So far:

• 5^th Grade will do their lemonade stand.
• 8th Grade will do a car wash.
• On the weekend Masses of 19-20, students will speak at the Masses.
• The week of October 14-October 18, we will have “Collect the Change” at dismissal.
• 4^th grade students will collect change at dismissal and 6th grade students will collect change at dismissal.
• On Monday, October 28, a school-wide dress down, bring whatever amount you can donate. Please make all check payable to Blessed Sacrament School, memo line: "Schools Help Schools." 

Car wash

Our 8th-grade students hosted a car wash on Wednesday, October 16 and it was a great success! The kids had so much fun! They raised a bunch of money and worked hard as a team!

The students raised $521 on the car wash!! The total amount is $1,637 so far!! I’m so proud of them for exceeding their goal! They still have the dance on Friday. Everything over $1500 will go to Catholic charities for hurricane relief.

Dear parents,

The mandatory parent-teacher conferences will be on Wednesday, November 6 from 2:15 p.m.-6:45 p.m. and Thursday, November 7 from 1:30 p.m.-5:45 p.m. with your child's teacher(s). A parent/guardian must attend the conference in order to pick up your child's report card.

MS has built in time for students to prepare for their academic day. This allows students to organize, check and complete missing assignments, ask pertinent questions of teachers, and prepare for their school day. Teachers have observed how this time is essential for student success. PLEASE have your child to school for homeroom beginning at 7:30. When you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail!

Oktoberfest is upon us! It will be held on Saturday, October 26th from 5:00-8:30. We will be at the Elementary campus, 515 Hillcrest Avenue, on the back lawn. Oktoberfest is a fun event that we look forward to every year, but does require a lot of volunteer help. Summer Uniforms

Friendly reminder, we will be wearing our Winter Uniforms on Monday, November 4th!

Winter uniforms begin next Monday, November 4th. Just a few reminders:

1. French Toast items run very differently in sizing from Lands End. Sounds like the tops are much smaller.
2. Review our Uniform Guidelines by CLICKING HERE.
3. If you order any logo items and they are the wrong size, they CANNOT be returned.
4. Orders are arriving in about a week. So if you need new shirts, you should order them as soon as possible to receive them in time.
5. Graham Sporting Goods is the ONLY provider of PE shirts. French Toast will not be offering them.

PE Uniforms:

You can still purchase PE uniforms locally at Graham Sporting Goods. They have yellow PE shirts, solid sweatpants, and zip-up jackets. You do NOT have to get the logo on the sweatpants, but it must be on the jacket and sweatshirt.

PE pants need to be solid navy. There should not be any lines down the sides or decals on them.
