🇺🇲9/11 We Will Never Forget🕯 | | |
This morning, Friday, September 11, 2026, we commemorate the 25th anniversary of the tragic terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, in the United States. At Blessed Sacrament School, we held a heartfelt prayer service to honor the 2,977 victims and the brave first responders who were present on that fateful day. We were pleased to welcome local first responders, including Fireman Shoffer, Lt. Riddell, Engineer Shields from the Burlington Fire Department, and Officer Michael Juarez from the Burlington Police Department—thank you for your dedication! They enjoyed coffee and donuts before the service (as seen in the picture on the right).
Mrs. Gomez opened the prayer service with a moment of silence. The sirens 🚨 rang out precisely at 8:46 am, marking the moment when Flight 11 struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Fr. Vincent reminded us of the importance of loving our neighbors and led us in prayer for the victims. We will always remember.
The ceremony concluded with our 8th graders entering with candles while our students waved the American flag as we all sang "You're a Grand Old Flag."
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, Knights! 💙💛

9/11 Nunca Olvidaremos
You're a Grand Old Flag".

Servant Leadership
Last Friday, September 4th, 2026, we held our 8th Grade Commissioning Service. During this event, our 8th graders were recognized as the servant leaders of our school for the upcoming year.
At Blessed Sacrament School, students are taught the importance of caring for others, seeking out leadership roles, and serving their community. The student servant leadership model equips our 8th graders to be effective leaders at BSS and in their future schools and communities.
Students are encouraged to greet and assist visitors, be attentive to the needs of others, and take responsibility for their words and actions. We find that pairing older students with younger ones fosters leadership skills and strengthens our sense of community. Our 5th grade students were also in attendance. Congratulations to the eighth-grade class of 2026-2027! 💙💛
