First School Mass of 2025!

This morning, Friday, January 10, we held our first school mass of 2025, and Fr. Vincent talked to our students about the importance of asking God for healing! Our students did very well answering Fr. Vincent's questions. We would like to give special thanks to the students who led us in prayer, the ones who read the scriptures, and our wonderful altar boys 💙💛

DARE Graduation-5th Grade!

Last Wednesday, January 8th, Officer Gonzalez from the Burlington PD came to our main campus and we celebrated our 5th grade D.A.R.E. Graduation! Many police officers were in attendance and Mr. Jeff Benes, 

Committee Chair Cub Pack 9 & Troops 9, came to speak to our students about the importance of the D.A.R.E. program and to resist peer pressure, drugs, and unhealthy habits. As part of the program, our 5th graders had to write an essay about resisting drugs and alcohol and what they learned in the program. Evan Miller, Nora Letvak & Allison Mendez-Garcia wrote the top 3 essays selected. Congratulations, Knights! 💙💛

Remember to keep your shirts for when we go to the DARE in the Park in the Spring.

It will also be on the tv, our Facebook page, and our website.  If you do not receive a phone call/text, we are open on time.

2025 Goals: As we discussed in Executive Functioning this week, the  SMART technique can help us to achieve our New Year's resolutions by ensuring our goals are Specific, so they are clear and focused, and Measurable, so we can track progress. By making them Achievable and Relevant, we ensure our resolutions are realistic and aligned with our priorities. Adding a Time-bound deadline keeps us motivated and accountable to achieve our goals within a set timeframe. Ask your child what his/her 2025 Goals are!

Basketball Clinic Success!

The BSS Varsity Girls team ran a basketball clinic last Tuesday, January 7th for our elementary students. Thank you to Coach Amanda and our student-athletes for your leadership. Watching you all work with the kids was extremely rewarding. This is the first of many to come as we continue to build the foundation and teach the game to as many of our students as possible 🏀

Sports Reminders:

***All athletes must have their "Athletic Permission and Emergency form for 2024-2025" and the "Athletic Physical Form" completed at the time of their first tryout/practice or they WILL NOT be able to participate. No exceptions.***

All athletes should come in proper clothing and footwear for their respective sport and bring a water bottle.

2025-2026 Tuition Rates Published!

Dear BSS Families,

Please review the 2025-2026 Tuition Rates for the upcoming school year! We have only increased the K-8 Tuition. The Little Knights's tuition, enrollment fee, and STEAMM Fees will remain the same. If you believe that your family will need a scholarship, please apply for an NC Opportunity Scholarship, which will open applications for new families on February 1st, 2025. Your family is also welcome to apply to our BSS Scholarship via the FACTS Grant & Aid determination process-We just ask you to apply for an Opporutnity Scholarship first.

Enrollment Timeline for the 2025-2026 School Year

CLICK HERE to access the BSS enrollment timeline we will follow this Spring. Our admissions office will begin sending re-enrollment agreements to families who usually do not apply for a scholarship next week. Families with a scholarship will receive their re-enrollment agreement towards the end of January. If your family will be adding a sibling, make sure that you let Mr. Rico know so he can add the new student to your contract and reserve his or her seat in the class roster for the upcoming school year. Remember, all new students must apply to our school, and submit a copy of their birth certificate, immunization records, and baptismal certificate if the family is Catholic. You can contact Mr. Rico at admissions@bssknights.org for any questions.

Opportunity Scholarships for Families who were waitlisted

BSS families who applied for an NC Opportunity Scholarship last February 2024 for the first time, and were waitlisted for falling into Tier 2, 3 & 4, were just offered a scholarship, as the NCGA just passed a law (HB10) and released extra funding for those families! If you are one of those families, you must have accepted the scholarship by December 27. Blessed Sacrament School will start the certification for retroactive Fall award endorsements on January 6th. Make sure that you endorse that your children are attending BSS. We will start issuing tuition reimbursement to families in February.

Summer Uniforms

Friendly reminder, we will be wearing our Winter Uniforms on Monday, November 4th!

Winter uniforms begin next Monday, November 4th. Just a few reminders:

1. French Toast items run very differently in sizing from Lands End. Sounds like the tops are much smaller.
2. Review our Uniform Guidelines by CLICKING HERE.
3. If you order any logo items and they are the wrong size, they CANNOT be returned.
4. Orders are arriving in about a week. So if you need new shirts, you should order them as soon as possible to receive them in time.
5. Graham Sporting Goods is the ONLY provider of PE shirts. French Toast will not be offering them.

PE Uniforms:

You can still purchase PE uniforms locally at Graham Sporting Goods. They have yellow PE shirts, solid sweatpants, and zip-up jackets. You do NOT have to get the logo on the sweatpants, but it must be on the jacket and sweatshirt.

PE pants need to be solid navy. There should not be any lines down the sides or decals on them.
