School Mass-Lady of Lourdes

This morning, Friday, February 9, 2024, Fr. Piotr Tymko celebrated Mass with our students and staff. He talked to us about Our Lady of Lourdes, which "is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary recalling her apparitions in 1858 in the grotto at Lourdes, France to Saint Bernadette Soubirous, a fourteen-year-old peasant girl. Our Lady instructed Bernadette to dig in the ground nearby, from which came a spring with healing properties, active to this day. After a thorough investigation, the apparitions were approved for devotion by the Catholic Church in 1862. A shrine was built there, which remains a popular place of pilgrimage."-ollsm.com

Fr. Piotr told our students that next Sunday, February 11th is the World Day of the Sick and the Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes. Many people go that day to Lourdes, France for prayer and healing.

We give special thanks to the students who did a wonderful job singing, leading us in prayer, and reading the scriptures.💙💛

The PECSAA Basketball Tournament is this week. I am attaching the brackets. St. Leos advised they will have practice balls. I am not sure about the other venues. The admission is higher for the tournament; $7 for adults and $3 for students over 5 years of age. The AD from St. Leo said that he believes teachers and principals with school ID get in free as well as the parish priests. The first games are set. If our teams lose their first games, then they are done for the tournament. If they win they advance and play again on Saturday at Bishop McGuinness; teams advancing to tournament play on Saturday, will also play on Sunday in the championship game or the consolation game for 3rd place.

Competition Cheer 2023-24

UPDATE 01/07/2024:

Dear Cheer Parents,

Shamrock is rapidly approaching, and the girls are working very hard to be ready. We have experienced some challenges this year with our practice schedule and injuries. Starting tomorrow Monday, January 8, we are going to extend practice by 30 minutes, so we will be in the gym from 3:30-5:00.  We are hoping that doing this will keep us from having to have extra practices. We understand that this might not be convenient for everyone, but this is, unfortunately, necessary for the girls to be ready to compete. We are going to be flexible as we know this is coming to you with short notice, but PLEASE, if at all possible, we need your cheerleader to be at practice. At this point, it truly impacts the whole team when one person is missing. If this is simply not an option for you, please let us know.

Additionally, there is an opportunity for the cheerleaders to compete in the Scott Cheer Classic on Feb 24  at 1:00 at IHM (Immaculate Heart Of Mary Catholic School-4145 JOHNSON ST HIGH POINT, NC 27265)

Please let us know ASAP if your cheerleader is available on that date and able to come to the competition by clicking HERE and filling out a short Google form.

Thank you so much for your flexibility and your support!

From the Office of Admissions

Dear Parents,

The admissions office is in the process of preparing to send out re-enrollment contracts for the following school year to our returning students/families. There will be an increase in tuition rates for the 2024-2025 school year. Please, review a letter from Mrs. Gomez by CLICKING HERE.

Enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year for returning families will begin on December 18, 2023. All existing families who have not requested financial aid in the past will start to receive an enrollment contract via DocuSign. Space is very limited for some grades and priority will be given to all returning families. Please do not delay in signing a contract once you receive it to secure a spot for your child. After signing, the system will ask you to pay the $265.00 enrollment fee. Review the letter above for deadlines. You will receive an email from FACTS once Mr. Rico sets up your automatic tuition payment drafts if you choose to pay via this option.

If your family is going to apply for the NC Opportunity Scholarship, and your family is a recipient once the NCSEAA notifies families in April 2024, PLEASE let Mr. Rico know so that he can adjust your tuition with the correct award amount (scroll down for more info).

If a family would like to add a new student/sibling, please let Mr. Rico know so he can adjust your contract accordingly. Remember, we will need the following documents for all new students:

  • Copy of the student's birth certificate
  • Copy of the student's immunization records
  • If the family is Catholic, a copy of the student's certificate of baptism.
  • Submit an application, if K-8 APPLY HERE, if a Little Knight, APPLY HERE.

Contracts for families requesting financial aid will be sent after their applications for aid have been processed and a scholarship amount is known. This will be communicated in early March.

If you have any questions about this process, you can contact Mr. Rico.

Corporate Sponsorship Opportunities for the 2023-2024 school year

We have new Corporate Sponsorship Opportunities for the 2023-2024 school year. We would love to help promote your business, while you support our school!

Money raised during the 2022-2023 school year was used for several major and unexpected expenses. We are in the process of replacing our 26-year-old Fire Alarm System at the Main Campus. We also replaced and repaired flooring in several areas of the building. A few rooms also received new paint!

Due to increased enrollment, we purchased 100 new Chromebooks for our students. None of these things would have been possible without the support of our community!

Box Tops For Education

No more clipping. No more sending Box Tops to school. All you need is your phone. Download the ALL-NEW Box Tops app, shop as you normally would, then simply scan your store receipts to find participating products. The app will automatically credit Blessed Sacrament School's Box Tops earnings online. Click here for a video of how it works.

Twice a year, your school will receive a check and can use that cash to buy whatever it needs! If you see this label, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth 10¢ each for your school. CLICK HERE

Link your Lowes Card

With Cart to Class, Lowes Foods will give up to a quarter of a million dollars to local schools this year. To participate, just enroll Blessed Sacrament School on your Fresh Rewards card, and start earning for our school. Click Here
Link your Harris Teeter VIC Card

When you shop Harris Teeter brands, a percentage of your purchase is donated to Blessed Sacrament School if your VIC card is linked.
You link your card online (CLICK HERE), or you can ask your cashier to link your VIC card by providing our TIE code 1704.
