This morning, Friday, November 1st. We celebrated mass with Fr. Vincent. He talked to us about All Saints' Day, which is dedicated to the saints of the Church, that is, all those who have attained heaven. Fr. Vincent began his sermon by asking the students if they knew of any saints. We had a plethora of answers! Then he told our students that we should all try to be like saints, that God wants us all to become saints and go to heaven with Him.
We would like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Spradlin, Mrs. Kennedy and Mr. Cancro for preparing our students to leading us in prayer and sing. It was a wonderful service.

Happy Halloween! 🎃
Last Thursday, October 31st, we celebrated our traditional Halloween Parade! Our students and staff were welcome to dress up in costume. K-8 walked to the church office where the church staff greeted our students with candy. After taking a break at the Knight's Castle, our K-5th grade students returned to their main campus and celebrated their traditional Halloween class parties at 2:00 pm. Our students had lots of fun.

8th grade Visits Cristo Rey High School
Last Tuesday, October 29, our 8th-grade students visited Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School! The school's mission is to provide a career-focused, college-preparatory education for students with limited economic resources. It offers a unique educational experience integrating rigorous academic curricula with four years of real-world work experience. Our eighth-grade students had an opportunity to participate in their shadow day with different activities. They heard from current students and were able to ask a ton of questions. The admissions staff will be at our high school options fair on November 7th, so go talk to them if you are interested in the school for your child's high school years.

Schools Helping Schools - Benefit Hurricane Helene Victims
The Diocese of Raleigh is partnering with the Diocese of Charlotte, as many of the schools have been impacted by Hurricane Helene. The campaign “Schools Help Schools” will go through the month of October. Our pledge goal is to raise $3000 as a school. We have always been a generous community, and we hope we can raise that amount.
- Two weekends ago, three of our MS students (Reagan, Caleb, and Zaylee) spoke at Mass about the “Schools to Schools” Campaign. Thank you, Mrs. Joy Bolen, Mrs. Aileen Bost, Mrs. Kelley Champion and Mrs. Jennifer Lee, for helping at Mass.
- We also collected $1,810.00 in our change campaign!! Thank you 5th grade for your leadership with this campaign and your hard work and our parents for your generosity!
Hurricane Total: $8,896.53 We are hoping we can collect $1,103.47 to reach $10,000!!!
Thank you to all of our BSS Families who were able to contribute their time or donated to this great cause! We could not have reach our goal without your support 💙💛

Planners
1st-8th grade students receive a BSS Planner each year. This is an excellent organizational tool! Students have time in class and in Homeroom at the end of the day to make sure homework assignments, tests and project due dates are written down. In addition, the planner has great resources for every subject area: multiplication tables, periodic tables, study tips, world maps, etc. Please check your child’s planner to make sure he/she is consistently writing down assignments. Executive Functioning skills are not innate; they are learned and grow through practice and with support!
