This morning, Friday, May 15th, we held our traditional May Crowning, during which one of our eighth graders crowned the Blessed Mother Mary. This year, Sophia Benitez (8) had the honor of crowning the Virgin Mary right after the ceremony.

Thank you to the BSS families who brought in flowers for Mary. A special thanks to Harris Teeter for donating flowers for this event. Right after, students celebrating their First Communion this month, took pictures with the Virgin Mary. 💙💛

My First Communion

This past weekend, many of our students received their first communion at Blessed Sacrament Church. The students had to do a year of religious education classes to be able to receive their first communions. We are so proud of all of them. Congratulations!

6th & 7th Grade MS Field Trip to Williamsburg, VA!

Teacher Appreciation Week!

This week, we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week at BSS. Teachers and staff were treated to coffee, breakfast, lunch, and tokens of appreciation. We love our teachers and staff-THANK YOU for all you do for our students and school community!

We would also like to thank Mrs. Ortiz for leading our Teacher Appreciation efforts, and to all of the BSS Families who donated something for the staff lounges. Thank you to Antojitos Tapatios for donating aguas frescas and esquites to our teachers!

Middle School Athletic Banquet Success!

We held our Annual Middle School Athletic Banquet last Wednesday, May 13th, from 6-8:00 pm at the gym. It was wonderful to see all of the students, coaches, parent volunteers, and staff who made this year's Athletic Department a possibility and a success! Thank you for all of your support!

Elementary School Parking

Just a friendly reminder: If you're late dropping off your child at 515 Hillcrest Ave. Campus, please use our parking lot and walk your child to the entrance. The Burlington Police Department has started issuing parking tickets for vehicles parked after 7:45 am. Hillcrest Avenue is now included in the ABSS School route, and we must keep the street clear since they cannot navigate around your parked vehicle.

If you're coming to drop off lunch, kindly park in our parking lot or across the street from our Elementary School Campus, ensuring you do not block any driveways. The trash truck cannot pass through if your car is parked there during lunch, and you risk receiving a parking ticket as well.

Un recordatorio amistoso: si llega tarde dejando a su hijo/a en el campus de 515 Hillcrest Ave., por favor use nuestro estacionamiento y acompáñelo/a hasta la entrada. El Departamento de Policía de Burlington ha comenzado a emitir multas de estacionamiento para vehículos estacionados después de las 7:45 a. m. Hillcrest Avenue ahora forma parte de la ruta escolar de ABSS y debemos mantener la calle despejada, ya que no pueden sortear su vehículo estacionado.

PE Uniforms:

You can still purchase PE uniforms locally at Graham Sporting Goods. They have yellow PE shirts, solid sweatpants, and zip-up jackets. You do NOT have to get the logo on the sweatpants, but it must be on the jacket and sweatshirt.

PE pants need to be solid navy. There should not be any lines down the sides or decals on them.
