Parking: There are multiple parking areas at SMC. There is a large lot at the back of the church, and a large lot across from the church next to the baseball field. 

When? The performance begins at 6:00 pm. Students should arrive at 5:30 pm. Middle school students will head to the balcony. Elementary students will come to the front of the sanctuary and meet their teachers. Please remind your student to use the restroom before they head to their seat. 

Exception: MIDDLE SCHOOL SOLOISTS AND INSTRUMENTALISTS may come at 5:00 for a sound check

What Do We Wear? 
Little Knights and Elementary Students should wear their Sunday Best. Middle School Girls should wear black skirt, black shoes, white top, and royal blue accessory (optional).
Middle School Boys should wear black pants, black shoes, white dress shirt, and royal blue bow tie.

Knights' News
Grandparent's Day Celebration

This morning, Friday, May 20th, we celebrated Grandparent's Day! Grandparents were welcomed to join us and enjoyed coffee, donuts, a short prayer service, and performances by our Little Knights & Kindergarten students.

After the service, students took their grandparents to tour the school!

NJHS Color Run

The National Honor Junior Society held their Spring Project - BSS COLOR RUN this past Wednesday, May 18th and it was so much fun! Take a look at the pictures and a video recording of the event.

All proceeds will go to the Guido family and as of this morning, we have collected over $1,300!! Thank you very much for your generosity.
Little Knights Very Important Dates

  • May 31, 2022, is our last day in the classroom. We will have our end-of-the-year celebration on Jun 1, 2022. Generally, our end of the Year Celebration is off school campus and the students and their parents join us from 10 am to Noon for fun and food.  We are working out the details of this celebration and will share them once they have been confirmed.

A Goodwill truck will be parked in our lot from May 20 to May 31st. They will give our school $0.15 for every pound collected!

First Communion Celebration!

We would like to congratulate Mrs. Bost's Religion students since last Saturday and Sunday, May 7th & 8th, several of her students received their First Communion! Congratulations to Ethan Bowen, Elijah Hoover, Aaron Vega Sanchez, Daniela Hernandez Salinas, Arian Perez Lopez, Isaias Colorado, Nora Letvak, Allison Mendez-García, Tia Naffa, Colton Troutman, Elam Menjivar, David Guardado Leon, Jose Granados, Evan Miller, Nair Menjivar, & Sebastian Vargas Aleem.

Eliza Rivera Bahena received her First Communion on May 14th.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS

First and Second Grade Field Trip to the NC Zoo

On Tuesday, May 10th, our 1st and 2nd Graders went on a field trip to the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro, NC! Take a look at some of the pictures of the students there.
Third Grade Field Trip - Greensboro Science Center

The same day, our 3rd graders went to the Greensboro Science Center! The students had a wonderful time.
Kindergarten Field Trip - Museum of Life and Science

This past Thursday, May 12th, our Kindergarten students went on a field trip to the Museum of Life and Science in Durham, NC. Kindergarten families had a great time. The animal encounter was a great group time. They learned about reptiles and saw a bearded dragon and learned about mammals and saw a chinchilla. Please, take a look at some of the pictures of our students enjoying their trip.
Congratulations on Your New Baby Tichy Family!

Our staff enjoyed celebrating Mrs. Tichy and her family last Wednesday, May 11th! We can’t wait to meet their baby girl! 💞
Our Middle School students surprised Mrs. Tichy and her family with a baby shower this afternoon! Some lucky students got to test out baby food. Others participated in a diaper changing relay!
PIZZA BINGO!

On Friday, May 13th, Mrs. Bost and her NJHS members hosted Pizza BINGO! Everyone had a wonderful time for a great cause! All funds from this event will go to our Maintenance Director, Mr. Victor. He was recently injured in a motorcycle accident and will have a long recovery. We miss seeing him around the school and hope he gets well soon! 
NJHS raised $916 at this event!!!
Teacher Appreciation Week!

Last week, May 9th-13th, was Teacher Appreciation Week and we just wanted to congratulate all of our teachers for doing such a wonderful job with our students!!

BSS Sports
A special thanks to all of our coaches, teachers, and parents who made it possible to have our Spring sports this year. Students enjoyed playing track, golf, and tennis!
Our Knights did so well at the PECSAA Track Meet this past Sunday, May 15th! Our team took 6th place overall. Thank you to our leader and head coach, Jen Klein, for a wonderful season! Our Elementary coaches were: Mrs. Letvak, Mrs. Hill, and Ms. Miranda

Congratulations to our golf team for winning their match on Wednesday, May 11th! This was their first home match at The Valley Golf Course.

NC Opportunity Scholarships

Great News! The NC Carolina Opportunity Scholarship awards have increased this upcoming school year to $6,168!! Furthermore, now all rising Kindergarteners, 1st and 2nd graders qualify for an award even if they did not attend a public school the previous year! Please review these guidelines and see if your family qualifies for an award.

Opportunity Scholarship renewal applications will open for the 2022-2023 school year on February 1 - March 31, 2021. If your family is currently a recipient of an opportunity scholarship, you are eligible for a scholarship for the next school year! Make sure you renew early since scholarship monies are given on a first-come-first-served basis. Follow THIS LINK to access the Opportunity Scholarship website. Applications for new students applying for a new award will open on March 1st.

La Fiesta is being added to your lunch lineup starting April 29th. Red Robin's last day of delivery will be April 8th. All orders for Red Robin after that date will be canceled and credited to your account. All credits are applied automatically upon your next checkout. La Fiesta is excited to begin serving your school.

Uniforms!


We are aware that Lands’ End is running behind on their orders. We do have a variety of items available in the swap shop. If you need uniforms let us know! If you have items to donate, we definitely need them (especially Middle School polo shirts).

UPDATE: BSS has partnered with Graham Sporting Goods to be co-suppliers for the PE uniforms for the school year. You can still buy the PE uniform through Lands' End for this school year, but next year Graham Sporting Goods will be the only supplier for the PE Uniform supplier. Graham Sporting Goods is still working on the fleece jacket option for us. It looks like they do have the zip-up hoodie jacket ready for purchasing, go check them out!

Application Deadlines
Early application is encouraged to help avoid being placed on a waitlist.
Applications for grades 9-12 are accepted on a rolling, space-available basis.
Ordinarily, BMCHS does not accept 12th-grade transfer students from local (Piedmont) schools. We will consider seniors who are transferring from out of state or from outside of the Piedmont region.
The following are given priority consideration through February 1: PACS students (students attending Piedmont Area Catholic Schools); siblings of current and former BMCHS students; children of alumni; children of Bishop McGuinness faculty and staff members, and children of PACS faculty and staff members.
