School Mass - Immaculate Conception

Last Thursday, December 8th in the morning, we celebrated our School Mass for the Immaculate Conception with Fr. Tim. He talked to our students about the Virgin Mary and how she said yes to becoming the mother of Jesus (Luck 1:38) . Fr. Tim also highlighted the importance of teamwork and not being afraid to say yes when we are asked to do something, just like Mary did. Our fifth-grade students did a great job reading all of our prayer requests. We are always grateful to Mr. James LaChance for signing and for our new students training to become altar helpers. CLICK HERE to watch a video recording of the service.

Nick's Skits by 8th Grade

Our 8th-grade students did a great job with their St. Nick Skits on Wednesday, December 7th. The children enjoyed learning about his life through their skits.
When they returned to class, they left a shoe in the hallway hoping they’d receive a treat! CLICK HERE to watch a video of their presentation.
BSS Gives Back: Week of Giving
December 5th - December 8th

Each year, our school takes a week in December to give back to our community. We make sure each class has a special project. Mrs. Fitzgerald turned our MakerSpace into Santa's Workshop so our students make or assemble the gifts and then deliver them to their recipients!
First & Second Grade delivering dog and cat treats for Meals on Wheels clients.
On Monday, December 5th, our Middle School students made treat bags for downtown employees. First and second-grade students made treat bags for Meals On Wheels recipients with cats & dogs. Fourth-grade students are making origami Christmas ornaments and Snowman soaps for our neighbors!
On Tuesday, December 6th, we had our second day at Santa's Workshop, and 3rd-grade students decorated and stuffed treat bags for our downtown firemen and policemen. Kindergarten students helped our 6th-grade students finish the treat bags for downtown employees!

Athletic Booster Club: Shoe Fundraiser!

The Athletic Boosters Club has officially kicked off the 2022 Blessed Sacrament Shoe drive with funds2orgs.
How the fundraiser works:
BSS students and families will collect gently worn, used and new shoes for the next 60 days. These shoes are bagged and then collected by the fundraising company. Funds2Org then pays BSS per pound for the shoes. These shoes are shipped to micro-enterprises around the world
What is our School Goal?
100 bags (2,500 shoes) – Collecting 100 bags will raise approximately $1,000.
After 100 bags our cost per pound we receive increases, increasing our earnings even more. There is NO LIMIT to the number of shoes we collect
How you can collect and donate:
  • Check your home for any shoes no longer being worn or no longer fit.
  • Ask all your neighbors, friends, and families to check their closets. Most people have several pairs of shoes that are no longer being worn.
  • Re-share future Blessed Sacrament Social Media Posts about the fundraiser. Share to any neighborhood or club pages you are members of. Spread the word!
  • There will be a collection box at the Blessed Sacrament School and Blessed Sacrament Church.
  • The fundraiser continues until mid-January, so be sure to collect at your holiday gatherings!

Cheer Update

Congratulations to all of those students that made the 2022-2023 Competition Cheer Team!

If your family decides to accept the position on the cheer team the following commitments are required:

  • Cheer Classic @ Williams High School - Saturday, January 14, 2023
  • Shamrock Tournament @Charlotte Catholic High School February 17-19, 2023
  • Practices on Wednesdays and Thursdays 3:30-5:00 in the Knight Castle. We are aware that certain conflicts may arise from time to time and are willing to work with you on a case-by-case basis, especially in the beginning. Because there are many BSS activities, our intention is to give you a calendar with specific practice dates that work around school events ASAP. We ask that you be flexible around competition time as we might need to add extra practice if we are struggling with a particular skill or part of the routine.
  • We would like each girl to bring a change of clothes, sturdy shoes, a water bottle, and a yoga mat (to be kept at school) to practice. If you don’t have a yoga mat it can be purchased at Five Below or Walmart for $5-$10.

I am sure other questions will arise as we move forward, Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.

We are looking forward to a great season!! Go, Knights!!!

All plaid should have the colors green, navy, yellow, and red. There are a few variations. Please be sure to get the one w/ all 4 colors. On Lands' End, it is called HUNTER/CLASSIC NAVY PLAID.

On French Toast and Walmart, it is called GREEN PLAID.
