First School Mass with Fr. Albert!

This morning, we celebrated mass for the first time with Fr. Albert. He talked to our students about the Lenten season and told us that the word Lent comes from the Old English word "lencten" which meant "spring season" or "lengthening of the days". Fr. Albert shared with us that he is originally from Southern India and that over there, they only get to experience two seasons: the dry and wet seasons. When he arrived in the United States, he got to experience the four seasons; including Spring. Welcome to Blessed Sacrament School Community Fr. Albert!!

We would like to give a special thanks to our eighth-grade students for stepping up and reading the petitions and the scriptures. Our elementary school students were not able to attend today's mass because of the rain. Great job Knights! 💙💛

EF Tip of the Week

Looking for inexpensive family fun? Grab a deck of cards! Playing card games helps students develop important executive function skills that are essential for success in school and life. When engaging in card games, students practice working memory by keeping track of cards played and remembering rules. They strengthen their cognitive flexibility by adapting strategies based on other players' moves and changing game situations. Card games also enhance planning skills as players think ahead about their next moves and potential outcomes. Additionally, students exercise impulse control by waiting their turn and following game rules, while also practicing organization skills by managing their hand of cards and maintaining game materials. These mental exercises make card games an excellent tool for developing executive function skills in a fun and engaging way.
