PECSAA Conference Track Meet
Bishop McGuinness High School
THIS Sunday, May 5.

As stated previously, not all elementary school runners will have an event as we are limited by PECSAA rules to only allow ONLY one BSS runner per event. ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL runners have been assigned at least one event since we have many more events to run in these grades.
Jumpers in K-4th and 800m runners need to arrive by 1:30. All other runners should arrive between 1:30 and 1:45. [The full schedule and order of events is at the bottom of this note.]
Please check-in with your coach when you arrive.
*** IMPORTANT***
• If an emergency arises and your child is not able to attend the meet, please contact your coach ASAP so we can fill the position. Positions not filled will need to be scratched and will cost the whole team points. All races have been assigned and it is not easy or fair to other children to rearrange races last minute. We will run if the weather calls for rain but not if there are thunderstorms. Make up date is May 12.

Only coaches and volunteers with badges (sign up!) will be allowed on the track or the football field. Our team will lose points if we break this rule. If you are not wearing a badge you must watch the races from the stands or the tent area. Coaches will be in charge of the badges and will escort volunteers to their posts when we have a shift change. This includes the children too. The only children allowed on the football field are the runners lined up for the race.
Children (of any age) are not allowed to play on the football field at any time.
Runners should wear their Gold PE shirts, athletic or running shorts and the appropriate shoes for running. Runners will receive papers with their event assignments this week. Elementary parents have received emails regarding race placement as well.-please look for them. If your child has not been assigned a race, we would love for them to come, cheer the team and be a substitute runner.
Athletes,
• Drink a lot of fluids and get a good night's sleep on Saturday
• Eat a light meal before the track meet
Parents,
• Bring plenty of drinks/snacks for athletes and your whole family.
• Bring snacks such as peanut butter/cheese crackers, apples, oranges, grapes, granola bars, nuts, etc. Avoid greasy or heavy foods
• Look for the Blessed Sacrament tent area. We will have one canopy from the school. Other smaller tents and canopies are welcome. There will be down time between events. Children must be supervised at all times.
• Bring chairs.
• MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS SUNSCREENED!!!
Parents/guardians must be responsible for children during the track meet. There is A LOT going on. Please know where your child/children are at all times.
