BSS Give Back Week-December 11th - 18th 📚

Each year, our school takes one week in December to give back to our community. We make sure each grade level has a special project and students are involved in every step of the project. Students make or assemble gifts and then deliver them to their recipients! We will transform our SmartLabs into Santa's Workshops for the month of December in order to create our gifts. Below is a list of activities each grade level will work on. While each class will be working on creating gifts using supplies BSS will provide, we are also starting a new tradition this year: We are hosting a Book Drive to benefit the Alamance Partnership for Children (APC)!

APC is in great need of books for students ages 6-12, so we are asking that you send in new or gently used books that APC can distribute to students all over Alamance County and spread the joy of reading. Please send in one or more books to donate by Friday, December 13! There will be collection bins at both campuses.

EF Tip of the Week

Christmas List

Are you looking for gifts for your children that are fun AND provide learning opportunities (without them even knowing)? According to research on child development, board games, puzzles and card games benefit children by improving cognitive skills, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and memory. Studies also show that participating in these activities enhances social skills, which includes cooperation, communication, and taking turns - all essential for healthy social interactions. Additionally, board games help reduce stress and boost mental health by promoting relaxation and creating opportunities for positive family bonding.
