Last Monday, September 23rd, we celebrated our school's 89 birthday! We had an Out-of-Uniform Day and cake! Students, faculty & staff wore a birthday hat for the celebration! Thank you to the BSS families who donated a box of cereal and other food items to our food pantry.

We want to thank the parents and staff who made the celebration possible; especially Mr. Daniel Flores for bringing his speaker to play music, Ms. Murray, and Mrs. Flores for cutting the cake and distributing it to our students, staff, and parents. CLICK HERE to see more pictures of the event 💙💛

All School Picture Day 📸

Next Monday, September 30th, we will have our all-school picture on the front steps of our Main Campus. Please, drop off all students at the Main Campus. All students must wear their summer uniforms for the picture.

Elementary Movie Afternoon on 10/2!

Our 8th-grade students are hosting a movie afternoon on Wednesday, October 2nd for our elementary students. The movie will begin at 2:00 and end at 3:30. To determine the movie choice, they will sell raffle tickets. Each ticket will cost $1 and will count as one vote. Voting stations will be set up in the main hallway. The movie choices are: Shrek, Toy Story, Bee Movie, Cars, and Finding Nemo!

Our 8th-grade students visited all elementary classrooms last Thursday, September 26th to sell raffle tickets. Please send cash with your children if you would like for them to have the opportunity to vote! 

Admission to the movie will be $5. They will receive a snack and a drink for free!

All money earned will go towards the 8th grade field trip to the NC State Fair!

Blessing of the Animals🐶🐱🐴🐁🐤🐟🐛🐝

Mark your calendars as next Friday, October 4th we will hold our annual Blessing of the Animals right at 8 a.m. at the Main Campus. All of our students are to be dropped off at the Main Campus (515 Hillcrest Ave) and all families are welcome to bring their pets for a special blessing by Fr. Vincent.

Please bring supplies to clean up after your pets.

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration

Right after the Blessing of the Animals, all parents are invited to stay for our Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration right at 10:00 a.m.! We will have dances, live music and more fun for our families.

Esperanza Festival 2024

Last Sunday, September 22nd, BSS was present at the Esperanza Festival 2024 in downtown Graham, NC. It was very nice to have seen many of our students and parents attending the event.  

Food Pantry Distribution Day

On Monday, October 7, we will have our next Food Distribution at 408 W Davis Street from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. We are always in need of volunteers to help us distribute food. Please come to help us feed those in need. Over the past six months, we have distributed food to 500-plus families. Thank you all for your help and participation in our efforts to support our communities!

Oktoberfest 2024

Oktoberfest is upon us! It will be held on Saturday, October 26th from 5:00-8:30. We will be at the Elementary campus, 515 Hillcrest Avenue, on the back lawn. Oktoberfest is a fun event that we look forward to every year, but does require a lot of volunteer help. Please look over our sign-ups and consider donating some of your time to ensure our kids have a great Oktoberfest experience! Everyone us welcome!

ABSS High School Options Fair

On Saturday, October 5th, ABSS will host the annual High School Options Fair from 9 am until 12 PM at Holly Hill Mall in Burlington. The event is free and open to all Alamance County families with students. 

Come by to learn more about the Alamance-Burlington International Baccalaureate program, Fire Academy, EMT Academy, Public Safety Academy, the AIMS Academy for Advanced Integrated Math & Science, the Alamance-Burlington Early College at Alamance Community College, the Pre-Collegiate Academy, the Alamance Virtual School, the Teacher Scholars program, many Career and Technical Education options, and how students can earn college credits while still in high school with Alamance Community College and Elon University.

Elementary Running Club

We are praying for no rain so we can get our elementary runners started next week!

Running club will begin Tuesday 10/1 from 3-4pm at 515 Hillcrest. Any student not picked up by 4:10pm will be sent to after school. Thank you for your understanding with the bad weather the last 2 weeks! We will do our best to add 2 sessions at the end of the season to make it up to the students.

NEW EVENT BEGINNING WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 2ND- MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL "SKILLS AND DRILLS"

Blessed Sacrament will be running a basketball "skills and drills" for any middle school girl (5th-8th grade). These will take place for the next 3 Wednesdays (10/2, 10/9, and 10/16) in the middle school gym from 5-6pm. The sessions will be led by Amanda Morrison and Mr. Morrison. You do not need to be signed up for girls basketball to attend! If you are considering playing girls basketball this season, or you are "on the fence" about it, please come to the skills and drills and see how you like it! Summer Uniforms

Friendly reminder, we will be wearing our Summer Uniforms once we start the new school year!

Summer uniforms begin next Wednesday, August 21. Just a few reminders:

1. French Toast items run very differently in sizing from Lands End. Sounds like the tops are much smaller.
2. Review our Uniform Guidelines by CLICKING HERE.
3. If you order any logo items and they are the wrong size, they CANNOT be returned.
4. Orders are arriving in about a week. So if you need new shirts, you should order them as soon as possible to receive them in time.
5. Graham Sporting Goods is the ONLY provider of PE shirts. French Toast will not be offering them.

PE Uniforms:

You can still purchase PE uniforms locally at Graham Sporting Goods. They have yellow PE shirts, solid sweatpants, and zip-up jackets. You do NOT have to get the logo on the sweatpants, but it must be on the jacket and sweatshirt.

PE pants need to be solid navy. There should not be any lines down the sides or decals on them.
