POW/MIA White Table Prayer Service
This morning, Friday, September 16th, we held our prayer service in honor of those soldiers who never returned home. We also had a lovely visit by the VFW Post 10607 and a couple of veterans who shared their stories from when they went to the Vietnam War. The group performed the Missing Man Table or Fallen Comrade Table for our students to learn about the fallen, missing, or imprisoned U.S. Military Service Members. Right after the service, our guests gave our students American flags! Thank you for your service and for coming to speak to our students!
Mrs. Gomez shared with our students that when she was in grade school, she bought a bracelet with the name of one of the soldiers who went MIA in the war. She wears it every 3rd Friday in September. Thank you Mr. James Lachance for singing! We enjoyed listening to Remember Me.

They are rarely released from the Archives to tour. The students had a great day of learning outside the classroom! A special thanks to our dedicated parents for making this happen and giving rides to our students.

Students see farm animals, fruits, vegetables, and other plants, as well as farming equipment. They have the opportunity to hear from presenters that work in the industry as they rotate through nine different stations representing various areas of agriculture including dairy, poultry, farm technology, beekeeping, forestry products, beef cattle, field crops, soil and water conservation, and plant science."-Alamance Parks

Cheer Update

Congratulations to all of those students that made the 2022-2023 Competition Cheer Team!

If your family decides to accept the position on the cheer team the following commitments are required:

  • Cheer Classic @ Williams High School - Saturday, January 14, 2023
  • Shamrock Tournament @Charlotte Catholic High School February 17-19, 2023 This is an overnight event. A parent or guardian must accompany each cheerleader. Parents/Guardians will be responsible to cover the cost of the hotel room, meals, and admission to any games the students attend that weekend.
  • Practices on Wednesdays and Thursdays 3:30-5:00 in the Knight Castle. We are aware that certain conflicts may arise from time to time and are willing to work with you on a case-by-case basis, especially in the beginning. Because there are many BSS activities, our intention is to give you a calendar with specific practice dates that work around school events ASAP. We ask that you be flexible around competition time as we might need to add extra practice if we are struggling with a particular skill or part of the routine.
  • We will begin practice Wednesday, September 14, 2022, from 3:30-5:00.
  • We would like each girl to bring a change of clothes, sturdy shoes, a water bottle, and a yoga mat (to be kept at school) to practice. If you don’t have a yoga mat it can be purchased at Five Below or Walmart for $5-$10.
  • More information will be coming regarding uniforms and shoes. It is likely that we will choose a shoe for everyone to order, so they are the same.

I am sure other questions will arise as we move forward, Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
