On Friday, March 6, 2026, we had the joy of celebrating Mass with Fr. Albert! Did you know that Lent translates to Spring Time? Fr. Albert shared with our students that Lent is a season for us to deepen our spiritual lives, and we achieve this through practices of prayer, penance, and generosity. God's light and love reside in our hearts.

Immediately following the mass, NJHS Students handed over a $500 check to Armando Camacho, the Athletic Director of the Alamance Dream Center. The students organized a Middle School Dance on February 27, and all the money raised was donated to the Dream Center in memory of Eamon Hipps. Mrs. Kristin Hipps was also in attendance for this occasion. Thank you, Armando, for everything you do for our community and for sharing information about the amazing programs the Dream Center provides!

Last Monday, March 2nd, Mrs. Gomez read to our Preschool, Prek, 1st, & 2nd grade students three books by Dr. Seuss, including, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut. The students paid attention to the short stories and loved looking at the illustrations in the books!

Mrs. Lee's Middle School Art

Last Friday, March 6th, Mrs. Lee delivered art created by our middle school students to the Alamance Arts Center in Graham and the Knights of Columbus Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest in Alamance County. Great job, Knights!💙💛

Our admissions office is currently dispatching re-enrollment contracts for the forthcoming academic year. We are observing significant interest in the incoming Kindergarten and 6th-grade classes. Contracts have already been sent to these families. Kindly ensure that you sign your contracts by April 15 without delay. If your child will NOT be attending BSS this Fall, please inform our admissions office at admissions@bssknights.org, as we are maintaining a waitlist for students entering 6th grade.

***All athletes must have their "Athletic Permission and Emergency form for 2025-2026" and the "Athletic Physical Form" completed at the time of their first tryout/practice or they WILL NOT be able to participate. No exceptions.***

Apply for Scholarship Opportunities

The NC Opportunity Scholarship will open up for new families on Monday, February 2nd. Make sure your new application is received by March 1st!. If your family is renewing the scholarship, you will start to receive the Spring endorsement requests that your child(dren) is/are attending BSS in the coming weeks, and then they will ask you to renew the scholarship for the upcoming school year. Do not forget to request a new scholarship for an enrolling K-8 sibling.

On February 1, 2026, the 2026-2027 application for the African American and Native American Ancestry Tuition Assistance will be available. This scholarship program is now being administered by the Diocese of Raleigh Office of Education. El 1 de febrero de 2026 estará disponible la solicitud para el programa de ayuda financiera para la matrícula destinado a estudiantes de ascendencia afroamericana e indígena para el año académico 2026-2027. Este programa de becas es administrado actualmente por la Oficina de Educación de la Diócesis de Raleigh.

Catholic school students (Preschool-12th grade) of African Ancestry and Native American heritage in the Diocese of Raleigh are eligible to apply for tuition assistance beginning February 1, 2026. The assistance awards are funded by parish second collection donations and a grant from the Black and Indian Mission Office, founded by the Catholic bishops of the United States. Los estudiantes de escuelas católicas (desde preescolar hasta el 12.º grado) de ascendencia africana y nativa americana en la Diócesis de Raleigh pueden solicitar ayuda financiera para la matrícula a partir del 1 de febrero de 2026. If you believe that your family will need a scholarship, please apply for an NC Opportunity Scholarship, which will open applications for new families on February 2nd, 2026. Enrollment Timeline for the 2026-2027 School Year

CLICK HERE to access the BSS enrollment timeline we will follow this Spring. Our admissions office will begin sending re-enrollment agreements to families who usually do not apply for a scholarship next week. Families with a scholarship will receive their re-enrollment agreement starting the first week of February. If your family is adding a sibling, please notify Mr. Rico so he can update your contract and reserve a seat for the new student in the class roster for the upcoming school year. Remember, all new students must apply to our school and submit a copy of their birth certificate, immunization records, and baptismal certificate if the family is Catholic. You can contact Mr. Rico at admissions@bssknights.org for any questions.

Middle School Fieldtrips 2026!

PE Uniforms:

You can still purchase PE uniforms locally at Graham Sporting Goods. They have yellow PE shirts, solid sweatpants, and zip-up jackets. You do NOT have to get the logo on the sweatpants, but it must be on the jacket and sweatshirt.

PE pants need to be solid navy. There should not be any lines down the sides or decals on them.
