Mass with Fr. José

Today, Friday, November 14, we gathered for mass at 8:30 am. Fr. José shared insights with our students about the ancient civilizations of Mexico and South America, focusing particularly on the Aztecs. Did you know that the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe on a tilma has a symbolic link to Aztec beliefs? The Aztecs interpreted this image as a depiction of the Virgin Mary as a mother to a "child sun god" (represented by the four-petaled flower over her womb), who is considered the source of life. She is depicted standing on a crescent moon, which signifies her superiority over the Aztec moon god, whom she overcomes. Additionally, the image is surrounded by sun rays, symbolizing her role as the "Mother of Light" and her greater status compared to the Aztec sun god, Huitzilopochtli.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the students who read the petitions and prayers, our altar boys, our cantors, Mrs. Kennedy, Mr. Anthony, and Fr. Vincent for providing the guitar music for us!

Thank You, Veterans Day!

Last Tuesday, November 11th, at 9 am, we held a very special Prayer Service in honor of all of our Veterans. Thank you for your service, Veterans! Those in attendance were invited for coffee and biscuits.

Last Thursday, November 13th, we had our Out-of-Uniform Day and asked our students and BSS Families to donate a Thanksgiving Food Item so we could donate it to our Little Portion Food Pantry. Thank you to all who were able to donate. Blessed Sacrament Church's next distribution will be held on Monday, November 24th, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm.

Dear parents,

Conferences will be on Wednesday, November 19 from 1:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. and Thursday, November 20 from 3:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m. with your child's teacher(s). A parent must attend the conference in order to pick up your child's report card.

Please choose a time on this sign-up that works with your schedule. Preschool-8th-grade conferences will be in the classroom.

BSS Basketball Teams Win!

Last Thursday, November 13th, the BSS Basketball Teams played against Alamance Community School. Two victories for the Knights! Varsity girls picked up a 6-point win, and Varsity boys won a nailbiter 41-39! Thank you to all our fans and cheerleaders for creating a great atmosphere. Go Knights! 🙌🏻💙💛

Blessed Sacrament School is a member of PECSAA (Piedmont Elementary Catholic School Athletic Association). For most sports, students from 5th-8th grade are eligible to participate.

Track is open to K-8th grade.

Middle School Fieldtrips 2026!

Our 8th-grade students will have an opportunity to travel to Lancaster and Hershey, PA, which will take place on May 7-9, 2026. CLICK HERE to access the draft itinerary for the 8th-grade trip.

If you are bringing lunch to your child, please make sure it is labeled with your student's name and grade level and leave it on the table just outside the front door of the school--Do not forget to buzz the office to let us know you dropped by.

PE Uniforms:

You can still purchase PE uniforms locally at Graham Sporting Goods. They have yellow PE shirts, solid sweatpants, and zip-up jackets. You do NOT have to get the logo on the sweatpants, but it must be on the jacket and sweatshirt.

PE pants need to be solid navy. There should not be any lines down the sides or decals on them.
