This morning, Friday, January 17, we celebrated mass with Fr. Vincent. He talked to our students about St. Anthony and how he went into the desert to live a life of solitude and prayer, dedicating himself entirely to God by following the teachings of Jesus. We would like to give special thanks to Mrs. Kennedy, Mr. Cancro & Mrs. Lee for preparing the students for mass this week. Great job students who gave thoughtful answers, our cantors, readers, and altar boys 💙💛

Right after mass, Fr. Vincent did a special blessing to our student-athletes who are going to compete in the Cheer Competition at IHM and the ones who will be playing against St. Pius this afternoon. Good luck Knights, and enjoy the long weekend as on Monday, January 21st we will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

We have finalized the details of our middle school field trips.

• Our 8th-grade students will have an opportunity to travel to Lancaster, Hershey, and Monticello which will take place on May 8-10, 2025. CLICK HERE to access the draft itinerary for the 8th-grade trip.

Catholic School Week  January 26-February 1, 2025

We will start our traditional celebration for Catholic Schools Week on Sunday, January 26th at the 10:30 am mass at Blessed Sacrament Church (1620 Hanford Rd, Graham, NC). All of our BSS families and students are welcome to attend mass and students attending will be asked to wear their Winter Unfiroms for the service. We will have some students come and speak at mass.

Here are more details about what Mrs. Fitzgerald and the Student Council have prepared for our school!

Out of Uniform Themes (.25 a day or $1 for the week):

Monday: Pajama Day

Tuesday: Favorite Team Day

Wednesday: Wacky Tacky for Little Knights and Elementary/ Best Fit for Middle School

Thursday: Favorite Person or Character Day

Friday: *Homeroom Wars

For Homeroom Wars, each homeroom class will pick their own theme! Students will decorate their classroom doors/hallway and dress to match their theme. You will need to plan ahead for this! Ask parents to donate any decorations or supplies you need! The school will provide bulletin board paper to cover the doors. On Friday, 1/31, Elementary students will be invited to tour the MS building after Mass. MS students will visit the Main Campus afterward to see all of their doors. A Google doc will be sent out for voting. There will be a winner in each building. The winning classes will receive an out-of-uniform and a special treat. Get creative Knights! 💙💛

Seat Cushions for Sale-Fundraiser

Have you ever gone to a sporting event and the seat was either wet, too cold, or just very uncomfortable? Suffer no more! BSS will be selling seat cushions for families who would like to purchase one. These are portable, durable, and easy to clean! Mrs. VanWeest will be making them and part of the proceeds will help the BSS athletic department!

SPRING Sports SIGN UP!

It's hard to believe we are almost through the winter and into spring sports. If your child will be playing a sport this spring, please sign up using the link below. Please note that the girls' soccer sign-up will end much sooner than the other sports. Our conference directors need to know if we are having a team by 1/27 so they can make the game schedule. If you have any questions, please feel free to email jmorrison@bssknights.org.

If your child has not participated in a sport this year, you will need to fill out the required paperwork and return it to school before sports begin. A physical is also required before participation if there is not one on file with the school within the last calendar year (12-month period). This paperwork can be found on the BSS website under Athletics Documents.

2025-2026 Tuition Rates Published!

Dear BSS Families,

Please review the 2025-2026 Tuition Rates for the upcoming school year! We have only increased the K-8 Tuition. The Little Knights's tuition, enrollment fee, and STEAMM Fees will remain the same. If you believe that your family will need a scholarship, please apply for an NC Opportunity Scholarship, which will open applications for new families on February 1st, 2025. Your family is also welcome to apply to our BSS Scholarship via the FACTS Grant & Aid determination process-We just ask you to apply for an Opporutnity Scholarship first.

Enrollment Timeline for the 2025-2026 School Year

CLICK HERE to access the BSS enrollment timeline we will follow this Spring. Our admissions office will begin sending re-enrollment agreements to families who usually do not apply for a scholarship next week. Families with a scholarship will receive their re-enrollment agreement towards the end of January. If your family will be adding a sibling, make sure that you let Mr. Rico know so he can add the new student to your contract and reserve his or her seat in the class roster for the upcoming school year. Remember, all new students must apply to our school, and submit a copy of their birth certificate, immunization records, and baptismal certificate if the family is Catholic. You can contact Mr. Rico at admissions@bssknights.org for any questions.

Opportunity Scholarships for Families who were waitlisted

BSS families who applied for an NC Opportunity Scholarship last February 2024 for the first time, and were waitlisted for falling into Tier 2, 3 & 4, were just offered a scholarship, as the NCGA just passed a law (HB10) and released extra funding for those families! If you are one of those families, you must have accepted the scholarship by December 27. Blessed Sacrament School will start the certification for retroactive Fall award endorsements on January 6th. Make sure that you endorse that your children are attending BSS. We will start issuing tuition reimbursement to families in February.

Summer Uniforms

Friendly reminder, we will be wearing our Winter Uniforms on Monday, November 4th!

Winter uniforms begin next Monday, November 4th. Just a few reminders:

1. French Toast items run very differently in sizing from Lands End. Sounds like the tops are much smaller.
2. Review our Uniform Guidelines by CLICKING HERE.
3. If you order any logo items and they are the wrong size, they CANNOT be returned.
4. Orders are arriving in about a week. So if you need new shirts, you should order them as soon as possible to receive them in time.
5. Graham Sporting Goods is the ONLY provider of PE shirts. French Toast will not be offering them.

PE Uniforms:

You can still purchase PE uniforms locally at Graham Sporting Goods. They have yellow PE shirts, solid sweatpants, and zip-up jackets. You do NOT have to get the logo on the sweatpants, but it must be on the jacket and sweatshirt.

PE pants need to be solid navy. There should not be any lines down the sides or decals on them.
