Back to School Back Lawn Party This Evening!

We will host a back-to-school party this evening at the back lawn of our Main Campus (515 Hillcrest Ave.) from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Come and celebrate with our BSS families the start of the 2024-2025 school year. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink, a towel, or chairs. We will have MexiArepa Grill & Bubble Best Teas Food Trucks at the event for purchase (they accept card or cash), an inflatable, and the Mechanical Bull is coming back to give everybody a free ride! Parents, please sign the waivers before your child can ride. We will see you tonight!

First School Mass of the Year

Today, Friday, August 22nd, we celebrated our first school mass of the 2025-2026 school year. Fr. Vincent talked to our students about the Virgin Mary. Did you know that she was around 14 years old when the Angel Gabriel went to visit her? Fr. Vincent told students that they can pray to Mary for help with their studies this new school year and that God wants us all to feel joy becuse He loves.

Thank you Fr. Vincent, our altar boys, our faculty and staff who prepared today's mass. Thank you Mr. Cancro for playing the piano and our 3rd grade cantors. Have a wonderful weekend, knights!

Middle School Temporary Drop Off and Dismissal Procedures

Due to heavy rains, our middle school parking lot is not finished yet. We pray for the rains to subside as we start our school year. We hope that our parking lot will be finished in the coming month. We will keep you updated of the construction progress.

If you have a child attending 6th, 7th, or 8th grade, please drop off at the back parking lot of the middle school campus. To prevent a traffic bottleneck on S Fisher St, please come to the middle school campus via W Davis St. Here is our temporary drop-off route for middle school families:

For Dismissal, First Presbyterian Church is so kind to allow us to use their parking lot as part of our dismissal route. Please access it via W 5th St, where the Women's Resource Center/Meals on Wheels entrance is, and follow the parking lot until you see one of our teachers to stop. Then, we will let 4-5 cars enter our back parking lot at a time to pick up students, and then you will make a right on Maple Ave., and exit via W Davis St. Here is a map of the route for your reference:

Arrive on Time to School

Dear Parents, make sure that you arrive on time at school. Our teachers and staff are outside until 7:45 am on both campuses. If you arrive late, you must walk your child into the building and sign in the late arrival log. Thank you!

8th Grade Service Day

Last Thursday, August 14th, we welcomed our newest Servant-Leaders to Blessed Sacrament School. A Servant-leader seeks to identify and work with the will of the group! They seek to listen respectfully and to help the group do what needs to be done…..

The Teachers and Staff want to thank our 8th Graders for their hard work, laughter, and teamwork as they helped them get ready to open the doors for our younger Knights and their Families. Thank you Mrs. Bost for putting this together for our studentsIt was a wonderful day💛💙

90 Years Strong with the Class of 2026!!

4th Grade Scrabble!

Fourth grade worked hard learning about teamwork while playing giant Scrabble on Friday, August 22nd!

BSS Staff Got CPR Trained!

Last Wednesday, August 13th, Mr. Alan Catoe, a retired firefighter here in Burlington, came to train our teachers and staff on CPR in order to be ready for the 2025-2026 school year. Thank you for your service!

Blessed Sacrament School is a member of PECSAA (Piedmont Elementary Catholic School Athletic Association). For most sports, students from 5th-8th grade are eligible to participate.  

 Track is open to K-8th grade. 

Sports offered at Blessed Sacrament School:

Fall: Tennis (co-ed, 6th-8th), Volleyball (co-ed, 5th-8th), Boys Soccer (5th-8th), Running Club (co-ed K-4th), Cross Country (co-ed 5th-8th)

Sports Reminders:

***All athletes must have their "Athletic Permission and Emergency form for 2025-2026" and the "Athletic Physical Form" completed at the time of their first tryout/practice or they WILL NOT be able to participate. No exceptions.***

If you are bringing lunch to your child, please make sure it is labeled with your student's name and grade level and leave it on the table just outside the front door of the school--Do not forget to buzz the office to let us know you dropped by.

PE Uniforms:

You can still purchase PE uniforms locally at Graham Sporting Goods. They have yellow PE shirts, solid sweatpants, and zip-up jackets. You do NOT have to get the logo on the sweatpants, but it must be on the jacket and sweatshirt.

PE pants need to be solid navy. There should not be any lines down the sides or decals on them.
