From the Head of School

Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit. – Jeremiah 17:7–8

A theme that I have been referencing in recent weeks is that the Christian life is about relationship, not rules. The prophet Jeremiah reminds us that the man who trusts in the Lord is truly blessed, because his trust IS the Lord. The picture of a tree by the stream unconcerned about heat or drought, because the roots are deep and they are planted in the right place, is a powerful picture of a relationship with Christ. Sometimes our students (and your children) develop a picture that being a true Christian is about keeping rules. The truth of the gospel is that all of us — parents, teachers, and heads of Christian schools — are sinners who can't fully keep "the rules." To really trust the Lord is to rest totally on what He has done for us, not on what we can do for Him. May the Lord help all of us — teachers and parents — to model real trust in the Lord for the children He has given to us.

TKCS Shoe Drive

The PTF is teaming up with the King’s Athletic Booster Club to collect your gently worn or new shoes of all sizes and all types (except roller skates and ice skates). Donated shoes will help raise funds for our athletic program while also being distributed to individuals in developing countries.

Please consider asking friends, neighbors, or your church community to join in, and feel free to share the initiative on social media! There are shoe collection boxes at both school entrances. Thank you for your support!
