From the Head of School
Biblical Worldview or Spiritual Formation?
In partnership with Christian parents, The King’s Christian School equips and strengthens students through education and example to stand firmly on God’s Word and to become servant-leaders who impact the world through a Christ-centered life.
In thinking about the mission of Christian education at King’s, is our emphasis on helping students develop a biblical worldview, or is the emphasis on helping students develop spiritual maturity? This is somewhat of a trick question because the answer is both. Here at King’s we are concerned with the head, heart, and hands of every student. There is a cognitive element of “thinking Christianly” and thus seeing all academic truth from God’s perspective. There is also a heart component and a hands component. We encourage heart commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord while helping students see the practical implications of their faith by putting servant leadership into action.
As a school, we have more control over developing a biblical worldview because it is knowledge-based, and we can utilize classroom tests to see whether students understand a biblical worldview. However, shaping students' hearts is the work of the Holy Spirit. While parents and teachers can pray, model, and encourage, true heart change ultimately depends on the Spirit's work. We can require acts of service, but these may be driven by compliance rather than genuine internal motivation.
Christian education is a shared challenge for parents, teachers, and the local church, but the Spirit's work is paramount. Therefore, prayer is foundational for all of us — teachers, parents, and students. May the Lord help us to be people of prayer.

Is it time for a post-Christmas clean-out? Instead of throwing it all away, bag it up and bring it to the TKCS clothing shed. Your contribution benefits our school as it helps people in need. We accept clothing, shoes, sneakers, belts, purses, linens, blankets, and curtains! No rags or fabric scraps, please.
The clothing shed is sponsored by our PTF. It is located in the exit driveway of the school, on the right-hand side (image). Contact [ptf@tkcs.org] with any questions.
Hat and Glove Drive
Now through January 21
The Servant Leaders Club is kicking off the new year with a meaningful opportunity to serve others! From now to January 21, we are hosting a hat and glove drive to collect new or gently used hats, gloves, and mittens for those in need.
Here’s how it works:
- A collection box will be placed for each grade level, preschool through 12 grade.
- Students are encouraged to bring in donations and place them in their grade's designated box.
- The grade level that collects the most will win a special prize!
To keep things exciting, we’re dividing the competition into two groups:
- Preschool – 5th Grade: One winner will be chosen from this group.
- Middle and High School: One winner will be chosen from this group.
This is a fantastic opportunity to show kindness, work together as a class, and make a real difference in the lives of others. Let’s make this drive a success and bring warmth to those who need it most this winter!
