“Intelligence plus character--that is the true goal of education.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

As we close out another school year, our administrative team would like to thank you for your partnership. It cannot be said enough that the role a parent/guardian plays is critical in the academic and social development of an adolescent. Contacting teachers, attending events, and talking about school at home are all practices that encourage healthy relationships.

In whatever ways you modeled or encouraged this mindset, your child benefited.

We are thankful this school year resembled more “normal” than in years past. Students ate lunch together, celebrated together, danced together, and learned together.

Enjoy the summer months. Encourage your child to read, write, and do not forget to embrace the gift of time.

Thank you, again, Knight Families!

Semester 2 Exams

Check out this link:  End of Semester 2 Assessment Info for Semester 2 Exam schedules and information pertaining to exam days.

- This is the new link for the: Final Exam Pre-excused Absence Form.  Parents who complete this form by June 3 will NOT have to call your child in on the exam day to excuse their absence from Study Hall. This must be completed by a parent. Student emails will not be accepted.

- Students in Grade 9 are required to be in attendance for ALL class periods on exam days.

Chromebook Return

All current Freshman, Sophomore and Junior students will keep their school assigned Chromebook and charger over the summer. Please remember to keep it in a safe place. Also, be reminded that this equipment is school property. Any Google searches or information shared on the device will need to be school appropriate. If students have Chromebooks with significant damage that needs repair, beyond minor cracks, and nicks, they will need to give their device to the LMC for the summer. Students will need to have their Chromebook charged for the first day of the 2022-2023 school year, which is September 1.

All current Senior students will return their school assigned Chromebooks and chargers to the LMC 7th hour, June 8th or when they no longer need the Chromebook. Seniors attending Summer School should keep their Chromebook and charger. Those Chromebooks will be handed in at the end of Summer School.

OC Virtual Seniors should drop off their Chromebook and charger to the high school. Seniors can drop their Chromebook off in the LMC on June 9th during Senior Breakfast. All other drop offs for the Chromebooks should be done in the Main Office.

Incoming freshmen will be issued Chromebook during the picture days in August.

AP Test Scores

The 2022 AP Scores will be available online starting July 5. Students will log in with their College Board account.

Your score report will include all AP scores that you have taken. An unofficial copy can be downloaded from your AP account.

Have a safe and healthy summer.

Locker Clean-Out

All hall lockers must be completely emptied immediately after the last exam on Thursday, June 9, 2022. If an emergency or absence occurs, please call the school to ensure the safety of your belongings.  The school is not responsible for any items left in lockers after this time. Friday, June 11 is the last day students will be able to get things from their lockers. Lockers are cleaned by the maintenance staff, and items remaining are either donated to charity or disposed of.

Current Sophomores and Juniors returning in the Fall should leave their locks on their lockers over the summer, as shown in the picture.

All Freshmen should take their locks home and utilize them next year when they are at the 10-12 building.

Graduating Seniors should take their locks home and lockers should be cleaned out on or before Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

Dear NGC Students and Families:

It has been a pleasure serving the NGC as principal for the last two years; I have enjoyed working with the students, staff, and families. Next year, however, my role will transition to a learning coach at the middle school level. Keith Ruffolo, current principal at Cedar Hills, will take over as principal effective July 1, 2022. Wishing all the current and former NGC students continued success as they continue their high school journeys.

Sincerely,

Laura Westcott

Early College Credit Program

Students approved for the Early College Credit Program are reminded to check their personal email during the summer. ALL communications will be sent directly from the college not Oak Creek High School.

Remember, all college students register for classes first, then ECCP students register for classes. You are not guaranteed a seat in a college class.

Please keep the OCHS Block Schedule in mind when scheduling your ECCP course(s). Email a copy of your ECCP schedule to Mrs. Wolak,  k.wolak@ocfsd.org so your OCHS schedule can be adjusted.

Student Services Updates

Seniors

Make sure to send your final transcripts to the college you will be attending in fall. To do this, go to Parchment. If you do not know how to create an account or send your transcript, there is a short video on this site that will explain these processes.

Also, if you have files in your google drive, make sure to transfer them over to your personal accounts. After graduation, your school accounts will be closed and you will no longer have access to them.

Juniors

Use the summer to attend college visits and begin working on your college applications. If you apply to college over the summer, you may be able to submit unofficial transcripts via self report or Infinite Campus. If you need to submit official transcripts, you do this through Parchment. Remember, on all applications and for everything needed after high school, use your personal email address - not your school email.

If you need a letter of recommendation, ask a teacher before school ends for the summer and provide your resume so that the teacher will be able to write you a strong letter.

All Grades

Be sure to check your student email over the summer as counselors may be contacting you via email with scheduling questions. Schedules will come out in late August.

Counselor assignments will be changing with the start of the 2022-23 school year for the 10-12 building.

Parking Permits 22-23

Student Parking Permits will be available for the 22-23 school year using a lottery system. Beginning June 1st students should complete the appropriate Google Form (linked below). This will enter the student into the lottery for a permit. Students/Families will be notified on July 5th as to whether they have the opportunity to purchase a parking permit. Students will be allowed to begin picking up their permits beginning July 11th.

There are 3 Student Parking Lots. Parking Lots A & B will be separated by grade level, spots in Lot C will be sold once spots in Lot A & B are filled.

All student parking spots are assigned, permit number matches the spot number. Our goal is to provide safe parking on our campus where both your child and vehicle are safe while they attend school.

Parking Permit Form - Lot A (Seniors)

Please note the following if you are interested in purchasing a parking permit:

  • A student may not have outstanding Student Fees if they would like to purchase a parking permit. Outstanding fees need to be paid or have a payment plan in place with the OCHS book keeper.
  • Students holding parking permits are subject to Random Drug Testing (see policy and consent form below). Students and parents are required to sign the consent form AND the medical release form before being issued a permit.
  • Early Graduates will have the opportunity to purchase a Semester 1 ONLY Parking Permit. The cost of a one semester permit is $53. Full year permits are $106.
  • Students must have a current, valid driver’s license in order to purchase a permit. Permits will not be sold to students who only have a temporary permit.
  • Please review the Rules and Regulations for parking in a school lot.
  • There are NOT enough student parking spaces to accomodate ALL student drivers. Street parking is available on most surrounding streets. Parking in the lots of area businesses (Pick n’ Save, OC Community Center, etc.) is NOT suggested. These businesses have the right to tow unauthorized cars parked in their lots.
