As we close out another school year, our administrative team would like to thank you for your partnership. It cannot be said enough that the role a parent/guardian plays is critical in the academic and social development of an adolescent. Contacting teachers, attending events, and talking about school at home are all practices that encourage healthy relationships. In whatever ways you modeled or encouraged this mindset, your child benefited.

Enjoy the summer months. Encourage your child to read, write, and do not forget to embrace the gift of time.

Thank you, again, Knight Families!

Little Knights Play School

Congratulations to all students in the Assistant Child Care Teacher class, who participated in the worked-based learning program called Little Knights Play School. With the successful participation of this program, plus course materials and criteria from the course, over 50 students will earn their state certifications to work at licensed child care centers in Wisconsin this year. Little Knights Play School is a learning lab experience that provides the opportunity for our high school students to work closely with preschool-aged children. Under the direction of Mrs. Riha, high schoolers facilitate learning experiences for the children, which encourage school readiness and social skills. Thank you students for a successful year of this new program and nice work on your certificates earned!

Student Services Update

Seniors - please remember to complete these tasks by the end of the school year.

Seniors - Please remember to request that your final transcript be sent to your college/university. This is accomplished via Parchment. Make sure to select "hold for grades" and make sure that the email address affiliated with Parchment is your personal email not your school email.

CAPP - Students registered for CAPP classes next year (AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, AP Lang, Advanced Speech, and Music History) were all invited to a GO Time session in May explaining the CAPP classes/process (see here for the presentation). If your student is interested in CAPP, make sure to apply to UWO by July 31st. If your student is interested in taking AP Lang as a CAPP course, they will need to apply before July 31st as they will need to successfully pass a placement exam before being allowed to register for the course.

Please watch your emails over the summer for more information and contact Kelly Groh (k.groh@ocfsd.org) with any questions.

Chromebook Returns

- Senior Chromebooks:   Seniors will need to return their chromebooks. Senior Chromebook (and charger) collection will take place after the 4th hour exam on June 8th. If a senior will NOT be in the building for that exam or they are finished with their chromebook prior to June 8th, they can return chromebooks (and charger) to the LMC early.   Seniors will be checking chromebooks for damage during GO Time on Monday, June 5th. Please review the Chromebook Drop off Information.

- OC Virtual Seniors should drop off their chromebooks and chargers to the high school. Seniors can drop chromebooks off in the LMC on June 8th during Senior Brunch. All other drop offs for the chromebooks should be done in the Main Office.

- Incoming freshmen will be issued chromebooks during the picture days in August.

- All other students will keep their chromebooks for the summer, unless they are damaged. Damaged chromebooks will be turned in for repair over the summer.

Locker Clean-Out

All lockers, both in the halls and phy. ed. are required to be cleaned out prior to the last exam. All personal items left behind will be difficult to recover after the last day of exams. Please be responsible about collecting your materials. Items not picked up by June 29th will be donated.

Sophomores and Juniors returning in the Fall should leave their locks on their lockers (as shown in the picture) over the Summer.

  • All Freshmen should take their locks home and utilize them next year when they are at the 10-12 building.
  • Graduating Seniors, clean your lockers out and take your locks home.

Parking Permits 23-24

Student Parking Permits will be available for the 23-24 school year using a lottery system. Beginning June 1st students should complete the appropriate Google Form (linked below). This will enter the student into the lottery for a permit. Students/Families will be notified on July 5th as to whether they have the opportunity to purchase a parking permit. Students will be allowed to begin picking up their permits beginning July 10th.

There are 3 Student Parking Lots. Parking Lots A & B will be separated by grade level, spots in Lot C will be sold once spots in Lot A & B are filled or upon request.

All student parking spots are assigned, permit number matches the spot number. Our goal is to provide safe parking on our campus where both your child and vehicle are safe while they attend school.

Please note the following if you are interested in purchasing a parking permit:

  • A student may not have outstanding Student Fees if they would like to purchase a parking permit. Outstanding fees need to be paid or have a payment plan in place with the OCHS book keeper.
  • Students holding parking permits are subject to Random Drug Testing (see policy and consent form below). Students and parents are required to sign the consent form AND the medical release form before being issued a permit.
  • Early Graduates will have the opportunity to purchase a Semester 1 ONLY Parking Permit. The cost of a one semester permit is $55. Full year permits are $110.
  • Students must have a current, valid driver’s license in order to purchase a permit. Permits will not be sold to students who only have a temporary permit.
  • Please review the Rules and Regulations for parking in a school lot.
  • There are NOT enough student parking spaces to accommodate ALL student drivers. Street parking is available on most surrounding streets. Parking in the lots of area businesses (Pick n’ Save, OC Community Center, etc.) is NOT suggested. These businesses have the right to tow unauthorized cars parked in their lots.
  • Students who park in lots on campus without a permit will be subject to a $75 parking ticket and their car could be towed.
