A Message From Our Directors

April is National Minority Health Month. Studies show that ethnic and racial minorities in the U.S. experience higher rates of illness and death across a wide range of health conditions. These health disparities can be linked to social drivers of health, which include poverty, environmental conditions, access to healthy food, safe housing, educational opportunities, language and literacy skills. stigma, and racism. Research indicates that health centered social needs may play a bigger role in health than healthcare or lifestyle choices. To address inequities in minority health, it is vital to address these determinants.

If you are in crisis and need help, our Warmline is open 24/7 at 410-768-5522.
