A Message From Our Directors

International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) is held annually on August 31st. This day is set aside to remember those who have been lost to overdoses without stigma, to recognize the grief of families and friends, and to help end overdoses. It is also a day to recognize the impact of overdoses on on those who must act as first responders when an overdose occurs, a group which not only includes medical professionals and police, but librarians,

restaurant staff, friends and many others.

This year's IOAD theme is "Together We Can" in recognition of the power of acting collectively. If you would like resources to share to raise awareness, such as social media tiles, campaign letter templates, and educational materials, visit

the IOAD Campaign Website for free downloadable materials.

If you are in crisis and need help, our Warmline is open 24/7 at 410-768-5522.
