The Lake Champlain-Lake George Regional Planning Board received a $3.2 million EDA CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to capitalize and administer a Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) to provide loans to corona-virus impacted small businesses in Clinton, Essex, Hamilton, Warren, Washington, Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties.
Businesses in those 8 counties can apply for low interest loans of up to $150,000 for the purpose of working capital related to economic injury, or future resiliency planning through the purchase of equipment, supplies and physical infrastructure upgrades.

The US Department of Commerce announced on September 10th a $3.2 million EDA CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to capitalize and administer a low-interest loan program for coronavirus-impacted small businesses in the region.
High Peaks Distilling and the Biscotti Brothers hosted the press event on-site in Lake George. Key speakers included LCLGRPB Director Beth Gilles, Rep. Elise Stefanik, Assemblyman Dan Stec, Chairman of the Warren County Board of Supervisors Frank Thomas and Anthony Foti from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The LCLGRPB is proud to partner with NBT Bank and Better Than New Painting, LLC on the construction of the company's new facility in Kingsbury, NY.
Anthony Muscatello has owned the company since 2006, doing commercial and residential work on major projects such as The Sagamore Resort, Lake George Boat Club, the Double H Ranch, and custom homes along the shores of Lake George. The business was an ARCC Small Business of the Year nominee.
"We've got a reputation for doing quality work, and doing it right the first time. We work hard to uphold that reputation," said Muscatello.
Hilltop Construction will build the 4,750 square foot metal structure, complete with multiple offices, conference rooms and a large shop.

Planning Services from Consultants

The Lake Champlain Lake George Regional Planning Board (LCLGRPB) has been awarded a CARES Act supplemental EDA Award to provide technical assistance and planning to “prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus” as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, Pub. L. 116-136 (March 27, 2020) (CARES Act).
As part of this work, the LCLGRPB is requesting proposals from qualified consultants to provide planning services to facilitate a Regional Economic Recovery and Resiliency Plan. Proposals are due by October 2, 2020 by 3:00 PM.

The LCLGRPB is seeking proposals from attorneys or firms of attorneys admitted to the Bar to practice law in New York State to provide legal services associated with the LCLGRPB’s COVID-19 Small Business Recovery Program Revolving Loan Fund for the period of October 1, 2020 to December 31, 2022.

Call for Projects: Isle La Motte Lake Segment
|
|
The LCLGRPB is completing a management plan for the Isle La Motte Lake Segment on Lake Champlain in Clinton County and is seeking projects that will lead to improvements in water quality. Please contact Allison Gaddy at Allison.Gaddy@lclgrpb.org for more information or to discuss a project.
Inclusion of specific projects in a planning document illustrates an identified need and will give that project higher ranking when applying for future grant monies. The projects can be related to infrastructure, planning, engineering or other and should fall into the categories of agriculture, stormwater, wastewater and drinking water, invasive species, or erosion control.
The Lake Segment includes the Towns of Altona, Beekmantown, Champlain, Chazy, Clinton, Dannemora, Ellenburg, Mooers, Plattsburgh, and Saranac, and the Villages of Champlain and Rouses Point. Municipal officials and employees, highway, water and public works departments, lake associations and other community members are encouraged to respond.

Lake Champlain Richelieu River Flood Study

The Lake Champlain-Richelieu River Study Board is holding a series of virtual public meetings on Wednesday September 30, 2020. Board members will update the public on the study, address questions and accept comments. Interested participants can register for the meeting here:
The Lake Champlain-Richelieu River Flood Study Board is an joint, international partnership that is exploring potential floodplain management solutions within the Lake Champlain Basin. The study will describe the flooding issues within the watershed and provide a range of structural and non-structural flood prevention and mitigation measures.
