NEWS FROM THE LEARNING COMMONS
Thanks to our PTO, the authors of the Sunshine State Book "The Adventurers Guild," Zack Loran Clark and Nick Eliopulos will be visiting the Learning Commons on October 31st.  Any student who has read this book (by October 29th)  will be invited to an author chat on this day.  Students can bring their own copy of this book to get signed by the authors during their visit.

Students who have read this book need to stop by the Learning Commons to verify with Ms. Gill that they have read the book and want to attend the event in order to receive an invitation.

This will be a great event for students to see how real authors create settings, characters and conflict and how working with your best friend makes life so much more fun.
CLINIC NEWS
If your child has emergency medicine at school, you should have received a care plan from me for your review and signature. Please check with your child to see if she/he returned it to the clinic.

Healthy tip of the week:  Even though our mornings start early, there is one easy thing parents can do to help their child get more sleep: store their cell phones outside of their bedrooms at night. Research by Garmy & Ward (2017) showed that texting at night is linked to later bedtimes, shorter time in bed, daytime tiredness during school, and irregular sleep habits. SCHOOL ACCESS/VOLUNTEER FORM
In a continuing effort to provide safety and security to our students and staff we ask that you complete a School Access Form if you plan to enter a facility in the St. Johns County School District. This includes if you would like to participate in activities for your child in their classroom, field trips, book fairs, as well as readers, tutors, mentors, etc. A link can be found on the Landrum website along with detailed instructions.

Any person going beyond the front office area of a school must have a completed school access form, and present a valid driver's license or state identification card when signing into a school. It is suggested that the form be completed right away, as it can take two to six weeks to process.  Once school access has been granted, a person signs into the school as a volunteer, and chooses the activity that best describes what he/she will be doing in the school.  Driver's license and state identification card are required upon each sign in.

All forms must contain your full legal name including middle name (no nicknames), address, phone, gender, birth date, and social security number.

For more information or to complete an Access Form, please click the link below.  Thank you.
