Fall is a fun time for children to explore! They can see colorful leaves, feel the cool air, and hear the crunch of leaves under their feet. Even the youngest children enjoy noticing these changes.
Bring a little bit of fall into your classroom or care space. Set up a small basket with nature items like leaves, pinecones, or small pumpkins for children to touch and explore. Add fall colors to your art table with crayons or paper in shades of red, yellow and orange. Read books about fall and talk about what you see outside.
You might say, “This leaf is bumpy,” or “The pumpkin feels smooth.” These simple moments build language, curiosity, and warm connections between teachers and children, all important parts of CLASS and ERS.
Take time to explore the season together and enjoy the wonder of fall!
