The Lancer News: March 2024

Dear Malden Catholic Alumni,

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for your fantastic presence at the recent basketball viewing party against one of our rivals, Catholic Memorial. Your attendance truly added to the excitement, making it a memorable event for everyone involved.

The turnout was phenomenal, and it was evident that the energy in the room was electrifying. The game itself was a rollercoaster of emotions, with both teams giving their all. The back-and-forth action kept us on the edge of our seats, creating an atmosphere filled with anticipation and camaraderie.

In the end, our beloved team demonstrated incredible resilience and determination. Despite the fierce competition and the number one ranking of CM, MC powered through and emerged victorious. It was a triumph that left us all bursting with pride and joy.

After the game, the festivities continued with an amazing social. It was delightful to see familiar faces reconnecting and creating new memories together. Your presence undoubtedly contributed to the overall success of the event, making it more than just a basketball game but a celebration of our shared spirit and pride in our alma mater.

Alumni Spotlight

Thomas Meade '11

Thomas Meade '11, a proud member of the Malden Catholic Class of 2011, embodies the spirit and dedication that defines the MC community. His passion for the school has not waned since his graduation. Instead, it has propelled him to actively contribute to its growth and success. Serving as the football captain during the 2010 season at MC, Thomas showcased his leadership prowess and love for the institution.

This commitment continued at Tufts University, where he not only played on the football team but also earned the honor of being elected a two-time football captain. Armed with a B.S. in Economics, Thomas now serves as a Project Manager for Suffolk Construction, where his leadership skills continue to flourish. His unwavering bond with Malden Catholic led him to a seat on the board of trustees, a position where he actively shapes the future of the school.

The ties that bind him to MC are unbreakable, and his commitment extends beyond the boardroom and playing field into his daily life. This dedication took on a deeper meaning when his close friend and football teammate, Kevin Hennessey '12, faced a formidable foe – stage 3 colorectal cancer. Witnessing Kevin's courageous battle, Thomas decided to channel his energy into raising awareness for colorectal cancer by signing himself up to get in the boxing ring on May 9, 2024, for Fight Night at MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Kevin's name.

In the face of adversity, Thomas remains resolute, a testament to the enduring spirit of brotherhood forged at Malden Catholic and the unwavering commitment to supporting one another, both on and off the field. Please see Tom's page below.
