A Hot Summer Ahead

Hello Linda,

I would have liked to open this month’s newsletter with happy words about the beautiful summer ahead, and, of course, I do have those feelings. However, June was so eventful and overwhelming that I really need to look back at some of the things that happened.

Right off the bat, June 1st was marked by the heinous attack in Boulder, Colorado, by an illegal Egyptian immigrant who unleashed Molotov cocktails upon a peaceful crowd of pro-Israel demonstrators, killing several and injuring dozens.

The bookend to the month occurred on June 29th when a mentally disturbed 20-year-old man started a fire in Coeur d’Alene so he could ambush responding firefighters. He killed two, and one remains in serious condition. In the middle of the month, we had protests, often violent, in Los Angeles, causing President Trump to send in the military, which further inflamed the left, causing them to lose their collective minds over the President’s perceived overreach.

Also, mid-month, Israel attacked Iran, which responded quickly and violently. President Trump initiated a surprise attack by sending B-2s into Iran to destroy their uranium enrichment facilities effectively.

And for a bit of icing on the cake, the results of the New York City primary election resulted in a Muslim communist poised to represent the Democratic party in November’s mayoral election. Could you ever imagine that NYC, victim of the worst terrorist attack on American soil on 9/11, would see the day that they could vote in favor of a virulent anti-Semite Muslim Communist to run their city? If he is successful, you have only to look at London to see how this will turn out.

One wonders, what might July bring? I shudder to think…

Stay strong, Patriots!

Thank you for reading!

America’s schizophrenic foreign/domestic policies and how it empowers the enemy within

There has been a lot of news on the global front since I last posted to this site. The news has been coming so hot and heavy that I’ve simply not been able to find time to keep this site active. I’ve been posting instead at my Substack, which I urge you all to check out. I’ve also been doing a lot of media interviews, mostly but not exclusively with Brannon Howse at WorldviewTube.com, who has developed a fantastic 24/7 TV network providing great coverage of the fast-moving developments in the Middle East.

Brannon has posted a new article that lays out what I think are legitimate concerns about the potential fallout from what we see happening right now in the Middle East.

DAINES STRIKES AGAIN SLAMS NON-TRIBAL CITIZENS TO FAVOR TRIBES -THIS TIME THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES

A little over a week ago I became aware of a bill being pushed by Daines in the Senate and by Zinke in the House that could have an incredibly damaging effect upon non-tribal folks living within the boundaries of the CSKT reservation as well as all other reservations in Montana and across the United States.

This bill is cloaked in PR language and spin to appear to be an effort to help Native American tribes combat the fentanyl and opioid epidemic that is rampant across the country but which proponents of the bill insist is more serious and pervasive on reservations therefore requiring special privileges to be granted to Tribes to arrest non- tribal members and prosecute them in Tribal courts.

I want to explain the legislative process that began in the Senate and the House on June 5, 2025. In this process, both the House and the Senate must pass the bill in identical form, and it then must be signed by the President to become law.

So we have HR 3773 and S 1967, identical bills titled the Protection for Reservation Occupants against Trafficking and Evasive Communications Today Act of 2025, or the PROTECT Act of 2025. On June 5th, after two readings in both the House and the Senate, the bills were passed on to two committees in the House: the Committee on the Judiciary and the Committee on Natural Resources’ Sub-Committee on Indian and Insular Affairs; and by the Senate to the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs. If those committees pass the bills, they would then go to each body for discussion and a vote. If passed by both bodies, the bill would go to the President for signature.

I need to call your attention to some flaws in the bill that are very problematic. First, I need to point out that this bill is not a standalone bill; it is an amendment to two existing Acts: the Stored Communications Act and the Indian Civil Rights Act of 1968. So it is written in a way that makes it very difficult to understand exactly what is proposed. It is filled with language changes and additions to existing language in both Acts that are being amended.

In order to fully understand the implications, one really needs to have the original Acts to compare line-by-line after making the proposed changes to the original language. I have asked a person who is pretty expert at this type of thing to take on this daunting task, but it is going to take time. Meanwhile, I want to draw your attention to some language in the proposed bill that I see as problematic.

  1. The language in the bill’s introduction includes an ambiguous phrase that I believe can and will be used to broaden the bill's intent in a way that could prove very harmful to non-Tribal American citizens. The intro reads: A Bill to amend the Stored Communications Act to include Tribal courts as courts of competent jurisdiction, to amend the Indian Civil Rights Act of 1968 to confer Tribal jurisdiction over controlled substances, related offenses, and firearms, and for other purposes. (Emphasis by author)
  2. Within the amendment to the Indian Civil Rights Act, the bill amends Title 18 of the U.S. Code to expand Special Tribal Criminal Jurisdiction, allowing Tribes to prosecute non-Native offenders for drug trafficking, related offenses, and firearms offenses. This contradicts a 1978 Supreme Court ruling in Oliphant v. Suquamish Indian Tribe, which barred Tribal courts from prosecuting non-Natives for most crimes.
  3. Throughout the bill, the phrase “violation of the criminal law of the Indian tribe that has jurisdiction over the Indian country where the violation occurs” occurs several times. One can infer from this phrase that “the criminal law of the Indian Tribe” is used because the laws of the Indian Tribe can be different than State or Federal law, and Indian laws can vary from Tribe to Tribe. How could that be problematic for non-Tribal American citizens…(she asked sarcastically)
  4. The Amendment to the Indian Civil Rights Act includes the addition of the phrase “firearms offense” and the definition of that phrase: The term “firearms offense” means a violation of the criminal law of the Indian tribe that has jurisdiction over the Indian Country where the violation occurs that involves the use or possession of a firearm a) in furtherance of a covered crime or b) by a person who has been convicted of domestic violence. What exactly is a “covered crime”? Notice that the language does not say “in the furtherance of drug trafficking”. All references to firearms offenses lack specificity and are, I believe, intentionally ambiguous.
  5. The last section of the Bill, Section 4, Bureau of Prisons Tribal Prisoner Program, broadens the definition of “Tribal Prisoner” by inserting the words “or offenders convicted pursuant to the exercise of special Tribal criminal jurisdiction”. So, non-tribal American citizens, if convicted in a Tribal court, will be considered “Tribal prisoners”. What are the implications of that?
  6. Lastly, I want to share something that may surprise you, as it did for me. I asked AI (GROK) if any lawyer admitted to the State bar can practice within a Native American Tribal Court. The answer is “No, a lawyer admitted to a state bar cannot automatically practice in a Native American Tribal Court. Tribal courts are sovereign judicial systems, and each tribe sets its own rules for attorney admission.” Which leads me to another question: do Native American Tribal Courts conduct jury trials for criminal offenses, and if so, from what population is the jury pool selected? Would non-tribal citizens be guaranteed a jury of their peers?

I would ask you to consider the implications of such a flawed and biased law being implemented across the United States. Most of our Montana readers have followed what has happened with the Water Compact and the tedious and seemingly futile battle that has been waged against the Daines (and Tester) debacle. The Water Compact's stated purpose has been twisted and misapplied deliberately over the years until we have been left with a mess that is headed for the Supreme Court.

The same tactics of deflecting and essentially presenting the intent of this Bill as something for the greater good or at least having a benign effect upon non-Tribal American citizens are flat-out deception. This bill will have the effect of solidifying nationally the idea that Native American Tribes are sovereign nations within the United States, and the implications of that demonstrate a surrender to an idea that is antithetical to our Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Please, sincerely commit to fighting for our rights as American citizens until this Bill is a shredded document lying on the floor of the Capitol building. You hear that overused term “existential threat” so often that it has ceased to have significant meaning. But I am going out on a limb to use it today: this bill is an existential threat to our civil liberties. It is a slippery slope (another overused term) that could strip away the rights of American citizens, and not just the rights of drug dealers or cartel members, but John and Jane Doe who get swept up in a situation that allows for misuse and abuse of the Justice system.

If you are a Montana citizen, you should immediately contact Daines, Zinke, Sheehy, and Downing. We need to get the word out to as many Montana citizens as possible, so tell people about this dangerous bill. If you have friends or relatives in other states that have reservations, we ask that you alert them as well. If you are up for a bigger effort, think about contacting the committee members currently deliberating the bill in the House and the Senate. If you are willing to do that, please email linda@lastchancepatriots.org, and I will send you all of their contact details.

Stay tuned!

The Real Danger of Islam

Shortly after moving here in 2000, I attended a speaking event in Polson hosted by the late Ellen Trayler of Porthole Books. She hosted an American Jew, who had immigrated and now lived in Israel. His name was Viktor Mordecai, and he was touring to wake up the West to the coming danger of Islam.

He warned of Muslims who moved to the West, built everyday Western lives, and fit in quite well. His message was for Americans and Canadians to realize that when the time came and the word came down, your Muslim neighbors may very well not be what they appear to be. In 2001, before and even for years after 9-11, I didn't know what to make of it. Mostly forgot about the message.

That is, until I had an experience while we were working with Act for America around 2015. Linda and I were hosting Shahram Hadian and Trevor Loudon around the state, both authorities and walking encyclopedias on the subject and dangers of Islam. The Montana Human Rights Council would follow up on our event in a day or two with a Muslim speaker to tell people how wrong we were.

One occasion stands out above the rest and brings to mind Viktor Mordecai's words. I decided to attend one of their events hosted by a Methodist Church. The gentleman speaking was an Arab Muslim Professor of Linguistics at the University of Montana in Missoula. He explained about his life. He left Jerusalem when he was 17 and came to Havre, Montana, where he attended Montana Northern University. He later attended the University of Michigan, obtaining his Master's and Doctorate degrees. He showed slides of his family. He married an American lady, they have two sons and love America.

He was a very impressive and charming man. He briefly discussed Islam, making the point that Islam and the American Constitution were perfectly compatible. He quoted many scriptures from the Koran where love reigned supreme. About two dozen people were in attendance, and as is the case with Muslim presenters, he did not have time for questions. People were disappointed, so the CSKT Human Rights Council host asked for written questions only, and maybe he could answer a few.

By this point in my journey, I'd studied the Koran and read several books on Islam, its origins, and beliefs. I dropped a note asking for a comment on the Law of Abrogation as instituted by Mohammad, as it related to the scriptures he quoted on love. The Law of Abrogation, as directed by Mohammad, makes law that anything he said today replaces what he said yesterday.

The Professor picked up my note, closed it, and read it to everyone. He said, "I'm not sure who asked the question, but ..." I stood, introduced myself, and said I had. He smiled and said, "Sir, I don't know about the Law of Abrogation." Keep in mind he is a Muslim and Professor of Linguistics. I explained to everyone what I said above about the love scriptures being abrogated, and he again smiled and said he'd never heard of it.

Since I had the floor, I continued, "I am surprised you haven't heard of it. The Law of Abrogation is in the supreme Islamic law book, Reliance of the Traveler." Following my comments, the host from CSKT ended the discussion and thanked everyone for coming. Afterwards, I went up to the gentleman and thanked him for coming and taking my questions.

He was cordial, handed me his business card, and said, "Sir, I am not familiar with the Law of Abrogation or the book Reliance of the Traveler. If you email me, I will look them up and get back to you with my opinion." I thanked him again, and we parted. From what he said, he is a very nice man with an obviously accomplished family.

You can draw your own opinion about what came next. I emailed him every Monday for a year, reminding him of our discussion and his commitment. I'm still waiting for an answer. It's now been about seven years. Viktor Mordecai may have known something we're about to learn.

As I tell my kids and grandkids, practice situational awareness at all times and in all places.

Water Court and Lake Levels

The Water Court proceedings continue to drag on. I don’t have anything of importance to report on that issue. However, I want to remind Montana citizens who live in Basins 76L and 76LJ and have water rights to pay attention to the letter you received from the DNRC regarding adjudication of water rights in those basins. It is not something to ignore, and you must respond by mid-August.

Flathead Lake levels may continue to be problematic this year, similar to 2023. Brian Lipscomb, the manager of Kerr Dam, carefully placed a number of articles in newspapers during June that were full of PR spin and disingenuous “explanations” of what might be expected during the summer season.

First, he said that the lake would not reach the full pool, but then in the next article he said it would reach the full pool. In the last article he said the lake would be three feet low by mid-August. He emphasized in every one of those articles that Energy Keepers has and would continue to suffer “operational sacrifices” (read that as “Energy Keepers is making less money than they would like”) to balance the effects of “climate change” and the operational needs of the dam to maintain healthy fisheries downstream and meet its mandated requirements, as well as to try to keep the beautiful lake at levels which fulfill the needs for seasonal recreation and lake shore businesses.  Nevertheless, he says the lake will be three feet below full pool by mid-August.

What a pitiful song he continues to sing! Maybe the Tribe should seriously consider giving the dam back to one of its previous operators, who were able to manage the dam for decades through serious drought cycles without extremely low lake levels. Just a thought…

LAST CHANCE PATRIOTS!

Remember the Threat of Islam

When we first started LCP as a chapter of ACT for America, we invested a lot of time and money, sweat and tears into getting reputable speakers to come to Montana and travel the state with us, making presentations about Islam and the threat it poses within America. Shahram Hadian was one of our most successful speakers, and he came here several times. I encourage our readers to check out his Rumble/YouTube presentation from today: Abraham Accords: False Covenant, False Peace & A Lie - Truth Today 07/01/25. While there, you can find several other good discussions about Iran, Islam, and the concern that Shahram has about President Trump being somewhat naive about Islam and its tenets.

We have a large Muslim population in the U.S. It is important to note that being Muslim is not the problem: following the rigid teachings of Islam, including hating Jews and Americans so much that their deaths are called for, is the problem. Another problem is their fervent belief that Allah sanctions and encourages taqiyya, which is lying or deceiving for the furtherance of Islam. So when strict Islamists such as those in power in Iran right now agree to a treaty or a ceasefire, they cannot be trusted to uphold their end of the bargain.

Interestingly, when one questions AI about taqiyya, different AI sources give the same answer, almost down to the punctuation. AI says that my statement above about taqiyya is a misrepresentation of Islam. AI describes Taqiyya as simply permission to lie in situations of duress or under threat of torture or death. Shahram would take issue with that.

All Americans need to adopt a policy of “If you see something, say something.” Could the attack in Boulder have been thwarted earlier if the very first person who saw that man with his Molotov cocktails and other instruments of violence had reported it to security? We need to recognize that there are now people residing in the U.S. who may have been lying low for a long time and are waiting for some sign from their Islamic leaders to rise and act against the U.S. and its people. It could be another 9/11, or several smaller attacks, or an even bigger attack.

We have said before, and I will repeat today: You cannot negotiate with someone who fundamentally wants you dead. Also, PLEASE do not listen to or support churches that promote Interfaith or Multicultural religious efforts. Christianity and Judaism are not compatible with Islam by any stretch of the imagination.

Islamists do not believe in the same GOD. Islamists believe that Allah reigns supreme and that someday Islam will rule the world. Christians and Jews believe in a God of love and forgiveness who created everything and rules over everything. Christians and Jews do not promote their religions by force; instead, they invite people to believe in a true and loving God.

Over the next months, we will continue to refocus on Islam's threat to the world, particularly in the U.S. We may be able to bring Shahram back to Montana in the Fall and hope to see many of our readers in different cities.
