Relationships have always been at the core of what we do. At Capital Camps, we create a space where people are comfortable and proud to be themselves. This allows for strong, lasting, and deep relationships to form and grow.

For David Elf and Mim Kahn, that has been particularly true. The couple met at camp in 2009 and served on staff together until 2014. The two married in 2016, joining a growing list of over 40 people who have met their future spouses at Capital Camps.

They told us, "Camp has quite literally shaped our current family and sense of self, both individually, and as a couple. We can safely say that we would not be the people we are, and the couple we are, today without CCRC. Camp provided a space for us to be our most authentic and genuine versions of ourselves, which in turn led to our exploration our current career paths as well as provided the confidence to engage in a relationship that has been able to withstand the trials and tribulations of long distance. Without that confidence, I don’t know that we’d be where we are today.”

Our alumni leave camp with lifelong friends and partners. These deep community ties allow campers and staff to form extended Jewish communities that lasts long after their years at camp. Your contribution allows us to establish a welcoming space for everyone and create treasured relationships for our participants. Make your gift today to support the creation of Jewish community.
