Riverbend youth made a full day of it last Saturday.  They started out at daybreak watching the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean at Andy Romano Park.  Then they enjoyed a few hours at Disney Springs before heading to the Gulf Coast.  They fellowshipped with former Pastor Michael Harsch, his family and his youth at Lakewood Ranch Baptist Church before heading to see the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico at Anna Maria Island.

God's Word -- Unavailable!

By Riverbender Woody Brewster

What?  How could the Bible be unavailable?  There are over 100 English translations.  Yes, but the world has 7,097 languages.  That's almost unbelievable.  Those 7,097 languages are itemized in the Ethnologue (to see the list, click here).

Now here's the wake-up call: Over 2,000 language groups have no part of Scripture in their language. Millions are living in spiritual darkness.

What can we born-again Christians do to rescue these people?  Well, here's what Jesus said early in His ministry:  "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."  (Matthew 9:37-38)  He made it very clear that prayer is the priority.  If we can't physically go to these people, we can pray.
Bible Translation That is one of the reasons why Wycliffe Associates has Bible Translation Banquets in cities throughout our country.  You are invited to one. Come and hear so you can pray for the major changes in Bible translation.  What used to take translators  30 years now takes about one year!  Wycliffe Associates is forging ahead with modern technology so that people groups without  electricity can use computers to speed up the translation of God's Word into their heart language.  Praise the Lord!
Please come to one of our FREE banquets in October.   Choose your date:  Monday, October 15, or Thursday, October 25.  Dinner starts at 6:45 pm ...  The Shores Resort & Spa (at the pedestrian bridge over A1A), Daytona Beach Shores.  You may get your Reservation Card from me (Woody Brewster):  386-673-9064 or click here.  You may also get cards from Jules Cox (386-852-9702) or Maria Calder (386-445-9183).
