Growing in Christ

From Bobby Caliendo of the Riverbend Staff

Growing in Christ, which meets Sundays during the 9 a.m. hour at Riverbend, begins a new 12-week cycle on Sunday, Aug. 26.

This is a class designed to introduce Biblical truths to 1) guests, 2) new members, 3) non-Christians, and 4) long-time believers who want to re-visit Biblical principles.

  • Primary goal -- To help you grow in Christ, to introduce you to Biblical truths, and to help you learn how to apply Biblical truths to your life.
  • Secondary Goal -- To serve as the initial step of the discipleship process here at Riverbend. This class will help prepare those wanting to enroll in the Discipleship Training Program (DTP) in the fall.
Before you begin DTP, the pastoral staff encourages you to attend Growing in Christ and to complete the Fundamentals of the Faith book.

Growing in Christ  repeats after the 12 sessions; if you miss a session, you can come back and take that session. Feel free to take the class again to re-affirm these central truths.

Members of the Ormond Beach Police Department enjoy a barbecue lunch in Fellowship Hall on the last day of their "officer rescue training." OBPD has been using Riverbend facilities for several Wednesdays this summer as the headquarters for this training. They were treated to the barbecue lunch, courtesy of Riverbend and Chef Gabriel Martinez.
