FACES OF SPS
“I joined the Army after a few years of teaching. I felt that I could give more to my community. I was raised to help others, to give back, and to lead by example."

“I joined the Army after a few years of teaching. I felt that I could give more to my community. I was raised to help others, to give back, and to lead by example. I wanted my future children to see a strong woman who chose to make a difference, and see the world because she could. I knew that teaching would always be there for me, but while I was young and able bodied, I wanted to serve a larger community. I chose the Reserves because I wasn’t sure I’d like the Army. I had also just finished my master’s degree in secondary education. I have a son and two daughters now, and I want them to choose adventure and education. Those two concepts can be one in the same!”
