The COVID-19 vaccine is now available for all staff and students, including children ages 5 to 11. SPS and the Springfield-Greene County Health Department are partnering to offer vaccine clinics for students, staff and families.
The first clinics will be held on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Williams Elementary (2205 W. Kearney St.) and the Health Department Vaccination Clinic (1425 E. Battlefield Rd. – former Toys R’ Us building). The second clinics will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the same locations.

These clinics are a way to help “give the gift of health for the holidays.”
- Vaccination events will provide an opportunity for all eligible SPS staff and students to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Winter Break.
- Now that everyone is eligible for the vaccine and once staff and students have ample opportunity to receive doses in November and December, SPS anticipates that the district’s current masking requirement will be lifted in mid-January, after students return from Winter Break, and as COVID-19 cases allow.
- It is important to note that masking on school buses is a federal mandate; therefore, that requirement will remain in effect until the mandate is lifted by the government.
More details about COVID-19 vaccination clinics will be provided next week.
