"Build my Future is a great event that allows students to explore careers and talk to the professionals who are in the industry every day. We learn the skills of working with woods, metals, plastics and more, and then students come over here and see the careers that tie to those skills."

“In first grade, my students truly become readers, writers, mature socially and grow as life-long learners. Getting to see that all the hard work has paid off and watch it unfold is something worth celebrating."

"My favorite time of the year is the beginning of the year when I can assess and analyze data, find lessons and games to support their needs, and set goals. I create goals for myself as their teacher and the students create goals for themselves. At the end of the year, I try to focus on celebrating those accomplishments they have made throughout the year. I do a few things that really help to extend the learning and keep the momentum moving forward until the very last day of learning. Teaching first grade is a special year because the amount of growth they make in a short period is amazing. They truly become readers, writers, mature socially, and grow as lifelong learners. Getting to see that all the hard work has paid off and watch it unfold is something worth celebrating."
