CHS Botanical Society receives $3,000 grant for school garden 🌻
Central was selected from more than 1,400 school gardens to receive the grant.

“Receiving the Whole Kids Foundation garden grant is recognition of the community that Brandi Mendenall and I have been building over the last eight years,” said Paul Epps, CHS Botanical Society leader and Environmental Sciences teacher. “Central Botanical Society has had about 250 members since we started. These gardeners have developed friendships, work ethic and a sense of ownership that they still hold. We get texts from them all the time, sharing memories of building something or tasting a vegetable for the first time.”

FACES OF SPS
"My approach to addressing concerns is to listen to understand. When I listen to understand, I can better determine the needs of our community members so that I can provide the support they need."
Amy Patton
Coordinator of Student and School Services
“The most important thing I do daily is to interact with our SPS parents and patrons. In order to support the mission of SPS, I ensure that each interaction I have with parents and patrons is specialized to their specific circumstances. My approach to addressing their concerns is to listen to understand. When I listen to understand, I can better determine the needs of our community members so that I can provide the support they need. I love people, I love serving, and I love SPS. My role allows me to serve the SPS community. It is my pleasure to provide that support.”
