The Historic Tax Credit Growth and Opportunity (HTC-GO) Act was reintroduced in both houses of Congress. At the end of 2022, a previous iteration of HTC-GO reached new heights in the Senate and House of Representatives, gaining the bill’s highest levels of support. The 2023 version of the bill maintains the key provisions of last year’s bill, including: a 30% increase in the credit for smaller projects, a basis adjustment elimination, a decrease in the substantial rehabilitation test threshold, and an increase in eligibility of historic properties. HTC-GO is regaining bipartisan support in both houses.
In this month’s Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits Tool Box Article, we continue our ongoing interview series with Patrick Robertson, who oversees the Historic Tax Credit Coalition’s (HTCC) legislative lobbying efforts. Pictured are members of the HTCC, including Heritage President Cindy Hamilton (second from left), advocating for HTC-GO on Capitol Hill earlier this month.
