Webinar offers tips to make AMI days a success
Students are learning virtually Jan. 25-28.

Springfield Public Schools hosted three parent webinars Monday and Tuesday to help families prepare for the week of alternate instruction. All three webinars were booked to capacity. Parents who were not able to participate in a live webinar can watch a recorded webinar at their convenience. The webinar shares information on AMI Day attendance, how to navigate your child’s temporary virtual classroom, and a variety of other best practices for AMI learning.
Resources to help parents and students navigate Canvas
Each day, students will be expected to login in during their scheduled class time, engage and participate in learning. Use these Canvas resources to support learning or review the Canvas Tip Sheet for how to login and access your student's resources.

FACES OF SPS
“Empowering students, staff and families with more knowledge about the care, operation and troubleshooting for their tech will keep satisfaction, motivation, momentum and learning high."
Derek Thompson
Dispatch Technician
Central High School feeder pattern
"Technology plays an enormous role in education today, so any interruptions to learning due to technology issues (even minor) can derail momentum. My daily goal is to limit as many of these interruptions as possible through physical repairs and education about technology troubleshooting. Empowering students, staff and families with more knowledge about the care, operation and troubleshooting for their tech will keep satisfaction, motivation, momentum and learning high. Also, I actually have an end-goal in mind with my IT career because I’m working on a master’s degree in counseling. It’s my hope that I’ll be able to continue to work for SPS as a counselor after I graduate."
