FACES OF SPS
"In every community I've lived, I've learned people all around the world experience tremendous highs and unbelievable struggles. I strive to be an advocate for our students and their families to ensure the best opportunities for our kids."
Rachal Tarrasch
Principal
Holland Elementary School
"I began my career as a special education teacher in the Bronx, NY, and fell in love with the students and their families. I learned how to help families access a variety of services, was able to interact with people from different cultures, and became more sensitive and aware of the multitude of needs people have. These early experiences helped to prepare me for becoming a building principal, and in every community I’ve lived, I’ve learned people all around the world experience tremendous highs and unbelievable struggles. I strive to be an advocate for our students and their families to help ensure the best opportunities for our kids. I believe education is one of the greatest gifts we can give to our students, and I feel it is a true gift to give back to my community."
