FACES OF SPS
“When students leave my room, they know what strategies they can use to help themselves be successful in reading and writing in their classroom. I love seeing their confidence grow!"
Melanie Kreher
Literacy Coach/Title I Reading Recovery Teacher
Weaver Elementary School
"As a Reading Recovery teacher, I work with the lowest achieving first grade students. I systematically observe my students and look for what they can do and what literacy concepts they control, then determine what the child is ready to learn. When students leave my room, they know what strategies they can use to help themselves be successful in reading and writing in their classroom. I love seeing their confidence grow! Every child needs to be proficient in reading and writing in order to be confident and successful throughout the rest of their lives. I’m determined to help as many students as possible do just that."
