From Crisis to Stability: The Steps We Don't Always See

When we think about homelessness, we often think about its most visible moments—a person sleeping outside, carrying their belongings through downtown, or seeking warmth on the coldest nights of winter.

But what often goes unseen is everything that happens in between.

It's replacing an ID. Completing a housing application. Attending a medical appointment. Meeting with a case manager. Finding shelter on a freezing night. Taking one small step forward at a time.

Every day, people come to CCEH's Resource Center looking for more than basic necessities. They are looking for safety, support, guidance, and hope.

With your support during NH Gives, we can ensure that more people have access to the resources, services, and housing support they need to build a path home.

Please mark your calendar and give generously during NH Gives: starting at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, June 9 through 5:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10.

CCEH has TWO match opportunities during this year's NH Gives, meaning your gift could be DOUBLED! Follow us on social media to stay up to date on how your gift can go twice as far.

Granite United Way Day of Caring

A huge thank you to the incredible volunteers who spent their Granite United Way Day of Caring with us on May 15!

Despite the damp weather, the energy, positivity, and determination these teams brought to the day were nothing short of amazing.

In just four hours, volunteers accomplished an incredible amount of work, including filling an entire 30-foot dumpster, moving and relocating several heavy filing cabinets, painting an office, organizing the kitchen, and deep-cleaning both the Resource Center and upstairs spaces.

Their hard work and generosity made a meaningful impact on our facility and helped create a cleaner, more welcoming environment for the people we serve every day. We are so grateful for their support and for choosing to spend their Day of Caring with CCEH!

HUD 2025 Annual Homeless Assessment

Newly released data from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) found that homelessness declined nationally by 3% between 2024 and 2025, marking the first national decrease in several years.

At CCEH, we see the impact of housing and supportive services every day. In 2025, 37 individuals moved into permanent housing through our Resource Center, while our Permanent Supportive Housing program maintained a 90% housing retention rate.

While homelessness remains a significant challenge, this report is an important reminder that progress is possible when communities invest in proven solutions. Continued support for housing, homelessness prevention, and community-based services will be critical to building on these gains.

Read the full HUD report to learn more about the latest national homelessness data.

Please note that we are not able to take any clothing besides what is listed here and on our website. Reach out to us with any questions and to schedule a time to drop off your donations.

Pride Means Housing, Too

Every person deserves a safe place to call home and to be accepted for who they are. Yet LGBTQ+ youth experience homelessness at disproportionately high rates, often facing challenges such as family rejection, discrimination, and barriers to housing and supportive services.

This Pride Month, we're taking a closer look at the unique challenges LGBTQ+ young people face and the importance of creating communities where everyone can access safety, stability, and belonging.

Thank You Lowe's!

A special thank you to the team at Lowe's on Fort Eddy Road for donating 10 venetian blinds to our Resource Center.

Whether someone is stopping in for a shower, laundry, mail, case management, or simply a safe place to connect with support, maintaining a dignified and welcoming space is an important part of our mission.

We are grateful for community partners like Lowe's whose generosity helps us continue providing a safe and supportive environment for those experiencing homelessness in our community.
