Welcome to the Second Half of 2025! | | It's hard to believe that we're already past the halfway point of the year, but instead of panicking at how quickly time flies, we're taking a moment to reflect on the first six months of the year and celebrate some of the wonderful things our staff, volunteers, and clients have accomplished. | | | | |
Between January 1 and June 30, 2025, our Resource Center has been a busy place. We averaged 41 visits per day, with March being our busiest month.
Our staff and volunteers logged over 5,000 client visits, with over 1,500 visits during our extended hours. Responding to a need we saw in the community, CCEH began operating extended hours on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons beginning in January. We saw a notable increase in client engagement and a reduction in client misbehavior and stress, so we decided to continue Tuesday and Thursday afternoon hours for the rest of the year. We hope to continue extended hours on the weekends during the winter season (funding dependent).
| | | While the Resource Center is and always will be a place where people can just be without pressure or expectation, we are delighted to see that client engagement with case management has remained steady throughout the first half of the year, with 1,465 case management appointments made. During case management appointments, staff assisted clients with obtaining vital documents, applying for benefits, working on housing applications, and getting assistance with employment applications, among other services. | | |
Our Case Managers haven't been the only ones working their tails off: our Housing Specialists have also been hard at work during the first half of the year.
Five of the original eight Pleasant Street residents celebrated their one year housed anniversary in mid-June. Currently there is one available unit at Pleasant Street - an ADA unit - so the Housing team is working to fill that unit in the coming weeks.
Our new Permanent Supportive Housing program began operating earlier this year, and currently we have four clients in that program who are ready for housing but, like many, are struggling to find available units.
| | | | |
The lack of available housing throughout the state continues to be our highest hurdle to getting clients housed. Just this week, one of our clients had their rental assistance voucher expire because they could not find an apartment.
We continue to look forward to the opening of South State Street in the early fall. Construction is moving along, with cabinets being installed in late-June. The staff is hard at work with potential residents, helping them complete New Hampshire Housing applications and work through CCEH's Intent to Rent rental readiness program.
