Spotlight of the Month
WesBanco

The Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize WesBanco as Spotlight of the Month.

WesBanco Bank was found in 1870 in Wheeling, West Virginia, as a very small, rural bank. Now a larger community bank located in six states, WesBanco celebrates its 150th anniversary this year.

As change is inevitable, there is one thing in the Bank’s history that has not changed…their commitment to customers and the communities in which they live and work. They stay committed through service and financial giving. Many in the Bank’s family serve on boards, volunteer with non-profits, and partner with others for positive impact. A very current example of that is the Bank’s Covid-19 assistance efforts which included loan payment deferrals for personal and business loans, participation in the SBA’s Payroll Protection Program to fund over $850 million to small businesses, and more than a half-million dollars that was made available for non-profits that were seeing much greater demand for services while experiencing shrinking funding. Various non-profits who service Nelson County were recipients of over $30,000.

In addition to support of customers and community, WesBanco has traditional bank products and services in all sizes, as they recognize that “one size does not fit all.” They also have specialized services such as Private Client Banking, Trust/Investment/Wealth Management, Brokerage services, insurance, and special business services through their Treasury Management area.

WesBanco is a unique bank…a larger community bank with the ability to offer services and products that are typically found only in very large banks, with those services being delivered by those in their bank family who live and work where their customers do.

WesBanco values people…its customers and its employees, and they are honored to be a part of the Bardstown and Nelson County community.
