The countdown is on for the most anticipated fall fundraising festival of the year, the Hop N' Hog Culpeper Block Party & BBQ Competition, taking place Saturday, October 19th, from 12pm to 5pm at the Depot at 111 S. Commerce St.! Spend a fun-filled autumn day in Culpeper’s Downtown historic district, with the best live music, a kid’s corner, gourmet food and craft artisans; plus, the main event, beer, bourbon, wine and cider tastings, along with loads of BBQ, and a competition to boot!
Join Culpeper Renaissance, Inc., Culpeper’s award winning, nonprofit Main Street program, as we celebrate some of the best breweries, distilleries and BBQ in the area at the Hop N' Hog Culpeper Block Party & BBQ Competition! Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy nine breweries in one charming location; in attendance, Beer Hound Brewery, Cider Lab, Death Ridge Brewery, Far Gohn Brewing Company, Iron Pipe Alewerks, Pen Druid Brewing, Son of a Bear Ciders, Tap 29 Brewery and WAR Craft Brewery, along with the Virginia Eagle beer truck, featuring 10 taps of some of the best Virginia brews and ciders! Did we mention bourbon?! Meet, greet and taste warm and spicy samples from A. Smith Bowman Distillery, along with the CRI sponsored bourbon tent, tasting 1792, Angel’s Envy, Bulleit, Maker’s Mark and Elijah Craig!
Wash the beer and bourbon samples down with a taste of BBQ! Purchase bites from four of the top BBQ vendors in the area, Burnt Ends BBQ, Happy Family Ranch, Native Shire and Shine on BBQ; but watch out as they compete to take home the top prize of $1,000 cash as determined in a blind tasting by our local, celebrity judges! Not in the mood for the smoky, sweet, tangy sustenance known as BBQ? Enjoy additional food options from Aroy-Jung Thai Street Food, Catch the Chef, Country Kettle Gourmet Kettle Corn and Cap’n Corbin’s Seafood.
There is so much to enjoy at this year’s Hop N' Hog Culpeper Block Party & BBQ Competition, including live music from Steel Peach, rocking the stage from 12pm to 2pm and Chang Band rounding out the day out with jazz, funk and soul beginning at 2:30pm. Look forward to family friendly entertainment including Danny’s Bounce House, Brennan’s Balloons, Caricatures by Daniel Ryman, and even cornhole with prizes!
