Easter Flowers: Order by March 27


Anyone wishing to purchase Easter flowers in memory or in honor of a loved one may do so here. The online form must be filled out by Wednesday, March 27.


The cost of each flower is $10. The names of those being honored or memorialized will be included in the Easter Sunday bulletin. Payment can be made by check or cash, with “Easter flowers” on the memo or envelope, and placed in the offering plate. Or it can be mailed to the church office (1700 Mitch Daniels Blvd., West Lafayette, IN 47906).

General Conference Conversation on Zoom Tonight — March 21


The General Conference of the United Methodist Church is scheduled for April 23 - May 3, 2024, at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

First Sunday Brunch — April 7


The next First Sunday Brunch will be on Sunday, April 7. Join us for breakfast between services at 10:00 AM in the Activities Center.


Church members are welcome to assist with brunch through donation of food items or helping with clean up. Please use the sign up link below if you are interested in assisting. Please bring food by 9:45 AM and ensure it is nut free. Thank you to all who are assisting with the First Sunday Brunch!

First Church wants to celebrate our graduates on Sunday, May 5. If you or a family member is graduating this spring or has graduated in the time since last May, please let us know. We want to honor you!

First Church Office Closures


The First Church office will be closed on Monday, April 1 for the Easter holiday and reopen on Tuesday, April 2.


The church office will also be closed on Monday, April 8 for the solar eclipse, and reopen on Tuesday, April 9.

Join Us for Mini Golf Family Fun Event — March 24


This month's Family Fun Event is mini golf! Join us on Sunday, March 24, at 4:00 PM for fun, fellowship, and laughter at Monster Mini-Golf (3573 Promenade Pkwy, Lafayette.) This is an indoor course under black lights, so wear something that may glow!


As a group, First Church will have a private party room as a base location. Mention that you are with First Church and you will get in for the discounted price of $5.00 per person. Contact Diane Dahlgren if you have any questions.

Young Adults Lent Theology Group — March 27


Join us at Walt’s Pub and Grill this Wednesday, March 27 for a conversation about life and faith. This is an informal gathering of young adults talking about the things that matter in their lives. Meet new friends, enjoy beverages, food, or snacks. Drop in anytime!

Lenten Book Study to Continue Through April 14


Our Lenten Book Study will resume this Sunday, March 24, at 10:00 AM, and continue through April 14. Be sure to join us for the final weeks of this adult Bible study of Simon Peter: Flawed but Faithful Disciple by Adam Hamilton.

Native American Ministries Sunday — April 14


Native Americans Ministries Sunday is on April 14! Explore these resources from The United Methodist Church to learn how and why United Methodists celebrate Native American Ministries Sunday. Core resources are available in multiple languages.


First Church is encouraging our community to give generously on Sunday, April 14. Half of the gifts received will support the Committee on Native American Ministries, helping to create programs and resources, and provide seminary scholarships to United Methodist Native Americans. Donate here!

Sign Up to Volunteer for Vacation Bible School (VBS)


This year, First Church will be hosting JUST Like Me: Digging in & Growing Deep VBS from June 3-7. Registration opens Monday, April 1.


In this program, kids will celebrate their identity as God’s beloved creations just as they are! Through engaging lessons and activities, kids will practice sharing, asking questions, using their voices, building community, and speaking up for others.


Volunteers are needed to help with decorating, music, snacks, activities, group leading, and more! If you're interested, please sign up here.

LUM We've Got Talent — April 12


Come support Pastor Kory Pritchett as he represents First United Methodist in We've Got Talent, an evening of friendly competition between the Lafayette Urban Ministry (LUM) member churches! 


Raise money for the LUM Good Samaritan Fund. Help families struggling to pay their rent and keep the lights on. 


DATE: Friday, April 12 

TIME: Doors open - 5:30 PM, show starts - 6:30 PM

PLACE: St. Andrew United Methodist Church ∙ TICKETS: $35 per person; $280 per table (max. 8)

Help Stock the Tippecanoe County United Food Pantry


The Tippecanoe County United Food Pantry, operated by Church Women United, is in need of the following items:

  • Canned tomatoes, green beans, corn, peas, fruit, pork & beans, soup
  • Ramen soup packages
  • Boxes of macaroni & cheese
  • Boxes of crackers
  • Tuna
  • Peanut butter
  • Boxed/canned meals like ravioli or chili or stew, etc. Pasta/spaghetti


Please bring donations to the Missions area or the First Church office. They also accept checks made out to Tippecanoe County Food Pantry.
