Daylight Savings Begins Sunday, March 10


Don't forget! Daylight Savings begins at 1:00 AM on Sunday, March 10, 2024. Remember to adjust your clocks to spring forward and join us for Sunday service on time!

First Sunday Brunch - March 3


The next First Sunday Brunch will be Sunday, March 3. Join us for breakfast between services at 10:00 AM in the Activities Center.


Church members are welcome to assist with brunch through donation of food items or helping with clean up. Please use the sign up link below if you are interested in assisting. Please bring food by 9:45 AM and ensure it is nut free. Thank you to all who are assisting with the First Sunday Brunch!

Special Sunday Offering on March 10 UMCOR Sunday


The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) Sunday offering underwrites UMCOR's administrative costs to ensure 100% of gifts given for humanitarian response and recovery go directly to communities in need.


These gifts ensure UMCOR can respond swiftly to disasters around the world and represent hope and healing to those most vulnerable. Gifts can be made online or by check to local churches.

We are seeking volunteers for the First Church Tech Team. No experience required, just a heart to learn about First Church worship, sound, projection, and video-streaming. Young Adults Theology Group in Lent


Join us at Walt’s Pub and Grill on Wednesdays for a conversation about life and faith. This is an informal gathering of young adults talking about the things that matter in their lives. Meet new friends, enjoy beverages, food, or snacks. Drop in anytime!

Christian Nationalism Pre-Recorded Zoom Viewing — March 10


Christian Nationalism is often in our headlines. On Sunday, March 10, at 4:00 PM, the First Church Education team will host a pre-recorded zoom viewing of a discussion panel that expounds on these issues. This video discussion will provide time for conversations during and after this video session.


This gathering will set us up to view the documentary “God and Country” about the rise of Christian Nationalism when it is released to streaming services. Contact Diana Hoke for details.

Lenten Book Study


Join us beginning Sunday, February 18 in room 203 for a six-week adult Bible study of Simon Peter: Flawed but Faithful Disciple by Adam Hamilton.


Peter was an ordinary guy who heard and followed God's extraordinary call. He was a flawed, but faithful disciple. Along with weekly discussions and class videos, you will also discover your special gifts, talents, and abilities that God can use to to make a difference today.

Food Items Needed at the Tippecanoe County United Food Pantry


The Tippecanoe County United Food Pantry, operated by Church Women United, is in need of the following items:

  • Canned tomatoes, green beans, corn, peas, fruit, pork & beans, soup
  • Ramen soup packages
  • Boxes of macaroni & cheese
  • Boxes of crackers
  • Tuna
  • Peanut butter
  • Boxed/canned meals like ravioli or chili or stew, etc. Pasta/spaghetti


Please bring donations to the Missions area or the First Church office. They also accept checks made out to Tippecanoe County Food Pantry.


VBS Volunteer Info Session

March 3


Mark your calendars for VBS! This year, VBS is scheduled for June 3-7 and volunteers will be needed. Attend our volunteer info session after the 11:00 AM service on Sunday, March 3, in the church library to learn more. There will be pizza!


If you are interested in volunteering and attending. the info session, please RSVP by Friday, March 1, to Diane Dahlgren. Be sure to include your pizza preference: cheese, veggie, or sausage.

Pre-School Open House and Enrollment


Starting Monday, March 4, FUMC members will have access to priority enrollment for Village Nursery School (VNS). If you are interested in learning more, view the VNS 2024 Flier or visit the VNS Website.

Klondike Kids Club Needs Short Term Help Starting March 11


Purdue spring break is March 11-16 and most of the Klondike Kids Club (KKC) staff are Purdue students. Beginning on March 11, KKC will be short staffed for the week. KKC meets Monday-Thursday from 4:30-6:00 PM for homework help with reading, writing, and math concepts.


We need at least 2 volunteers each day to listen, tutor, and encourage our students. Adults ages 16 and up are welcome to serve. Consider helping out for one day or more! If interested, please contact Pastor Denny Frank via email or 765-714-1149.

Chick-fil-A Fundraiser Night for Village Nursery School — March 20


Come out to Chick-fil-A (50 N. Creasy Lane) on Wednesday, March 20, anytime 4:00-7:00 PM to support our Village Nursery School (VNS)! A portion of all sales will be donated accordingly. While you do not have to show the flyer, please be sure to mention that you're there for the VNS fundraiser. This is only for the 50 N. Creasy Lane location and works for dine-in, carry out, and drive-thru.
