South Asia Mission Project

Riverbenders David and Susan Dorner and long-time missions friend Gloria Rose (of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina) leave this Thursday, April 9, on a two-week mission trip to Nepal.

One of their objectives is to teach women in two local Christian gatherings. They will focus on Genesis 1-4, reflecting on who God is, who man is and God's plan for reconciling man to Himself. Women are being targeted because most of the men in the villages have been sent to work in other countries, as these villages afford little opportunity for men to provide for their families. This team will be working with a national partner, Pastor Philip from the suburbs of Delhi, India. His wife is from one of the villages where the mission team will be ministering.

The Dorners ask for continued prayer during this venture:

• That all we do will bring glory to God and His name will be honored.
• That the ladies will be blessed by God's Word & strengthened to live for the Lord.
• For safe travel & stamina, as jet lag is real, the flights are long, and we will be riding in a van for many hours over mountain roads to reach these remote villages.
• For guidance as we work with a new translator and that the translator will understand the points we're making and how to best express them to the Nepali.
• For David & Pastor Philip as they work on logistics and meet with any men who may be around.
• That what the ladies learn will be shared with others ... and that the Gospel will go forth in Nepal.

Jennifer Thoman, Director of Alpha Women's Center in Palm Coast, will speak to the ladies of Sarah's Circle at their annual church-wide baby shower for Alpha. It happens on Tuesday, April 21, at 5:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall

All Riverbend ladies are invited to bring shower items such as diapers, wipes, baby clothes, etc. Men may also drop off items.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Please come and learn more about what Alpha, which Riverbends supports, has been doing actively in the community and how you may be more involved.
