Chris Johnson, a familiar name in Riverbend circles the past eight years, will assume the senior pastor role at Crosswalk Church in Daytona Beach on Sunday, May 31.

Chris (pictured with wife Stephanie and two of their three children, Levi and Eden) has served at Crosswalk Church in various capacities (music, youth pastor and associate pastor) since its founding in 2003. He says he is "humbled by God’s grace and provision" in the opening of this new opportunity in full-time pastoral ministry.

Pastor Chris was a member of the first graduating class (2022) of Riverbend’s very own Christ Bible College & Theological Seminary. He earned the Master of Divinity degree at CBCTS while graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 3.97 grade average (valedictorian). He also briefly served as the Dean of Students at CBCTS following his graduation before teaching at Riverbend Academy and most recently serving two years as the Academy's Dean of Students.

Chris is also a graduate of Liberty University in Virginia, The Master’s University in Santa Clarita, Calif., and is presently completing his doctoral studies at The Master’s Seminary (2027) in Sun Valley, Calif.

"My wife Stephanie and I express our deepest gratitude to the pastoral staff, office staff, fellow administrators, teachers, students, families and members of the Riverbend family.," Chris said. "These last eight years have been filled with so many blessings, memories and friendships."

He added: "May the Lord be pleased to bless this next season of ministry and may the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ continue to grow as the gospel is proclaimed to the ends of the earth."
