Soup Potluck This Sunday!

Koinonia Hall • After worship-1pm

Gather after worship in Koinonia Hall for a soup potluck. Bring your favorite recipe and share warm conversation and food! There will be plenty of extension cords for your crock pots!

Worship Survey

So far, 138 people have filled out this survey sent out by the Worship and Fine Arts teams. If you haven't yet taken it, please take a few minutes and give your honest feedback! This will help guide the team as they continue to plan worship services at HAUMC. Receiving feedback from our families will be critical in understanding how we can meet the needs of children, youth, and families in worship at HAUMC. You can even have your kids take the survey so that they can add in their own perspective. Click HERE, and thanks in advance for your input.

Confirmation

As a reminder, the students who are available will be joining us for The Event this Saturday, January 21.

Our next Confirmation meeting will be on Sunday, February 5. In addition to our regular Confirmation meeting time from 11:30am-1:30pm that day, I'm asking the students to be here during worship on February 5 because, as a class, they are leading the Serve Sunday service project for the Sunday School kids.

Also, be sure to save the date for our Confirmation Retreat, March 10-11 at Camp Koronis. More details coming soon.

Call for Applications

Looking for support to continue your education? Whether a little extra money for college or that one class that is just out of reach, we invite you to apply for a Hennepin Scholars Award for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Scholarships are awarded in modest amounts to students pursuing seminary, college or university degree programs, or other post-secondary degrees or certificate programs. Applicants may be Hennepin members, employees or others.

Application deadline is January 20, 2023

Award notices by February 6, 2023.

Introducing a New Youth Small Group

January 22 • 10am • Longfellow Room

We are excited to try something new for our youth at HAUMC. This will be a pilot program that we hope will turn into a meaningful time of connection and conversation for HAUMC's youth, grades 8-12. Youth Small Group will meet on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month beginning on January 22 at 10am. Some key members of our Youth Committee will be leading this Small Group. The format will be informal and will center around relevant discussion topics. We hope that you will encourage your students to join! Please reach out if you or your students have any questions!

Care Packages for College Students

January 4-29

Our HAUMC youth will be putting together Valentines Day care packages to send to HAUMC students who are away at college. We are collecting the following items to go inside the care packages: Valentines Cards, candy, and snacks like microwave popcorn, ramen, instant mac and cheese, etc. Collection bins will be located in the East Entry through Sunday, January 29. And on January 29 our Youth Group time will be spent putting the packages together.
