Honors Institute Office Closed

In order to process and certify all TAP applications, the office will be closed to students this week. If you have pressing questions or concerns about TAP, the symposium, or spring registration, please email us and we will do our best to respond this week. Thank you for your understanding.
Bay Area Honors Research Symposium at Stanford University

For those of you who have submitted applications for the research symposium, please reach out to us if you have any additional information or context you'd like to share regarding your application by no later than tomorrow, March 3. Email us any relevant background to your proposal to enable us to provide insight to the selection committee. Although this information will not be considered part of your application, it may help if your proposal, it may help us to advocate for those applications that are on the border of being accepted but perhaps needs an extra "push."

If you are eligible to vote, please do so tomorrow! Use your voice. If you aren't sure whether or not you've registered, you can conditionally register and vote the same day as elections. If you are not eligible to vote, please remember that you have the power of your own voice to encourage, guide, and inform your family, friends, and community about the importance of voting. Share what you know and encourage those around you to get to the polls!
Women's Herstory Month

Opening Ceremony: Campus Center Dining Room (2201); Noon-1pm 3/4/2020
Foothill will kick off its Women's History Month this Wednesday, March 4 in the Campus Center. Speakers include Foothill President Thuy Nguyen; Protima Pandey, Director, Director, Office of Women's Policy at County of Santa Clara; and Julie Cates, League of Women Voters Los Altos.      

We for She Open Mic- Campus Center Dining Room (2201); Noon-1 p.m. 3/11/2020
Join We for She for an open mic and come share your poetry, song, and story with your Foothill colleagues and friends. The We For She Club is an intersectional feminist club that will be collaborating with Puente, Project Hope, Define America, Black Student Union, and Female Drummer Adaku Davis to host this event. We hope to provide a platform for the voiceless through establishing a safe space where students can hear powerful and groundbreaking stories. Through focusing on the power of the individual, we seek to celebrate resilience.               
Community Campus Involvement Opportunities
We recognize that many honors students are currently involved with various campus activities or groups that may offer opportunities for service leadership experiences or contributions to the Foothill College community. If you are interested in recruiting students for your clubs, campus events, and/or other leadership opportunities that are available to your fellow students on campus, please send us information so we can feature your particular organization or event in our newsletter.
