TAP Workshops for UCLA Applicants
This message is for all honors students who applied to UCLA last fall 2019.

Many of you have already read and responded to our letter about TAP Certification, but in case you missed that message, please be sure to attend one of the following TAP workshops to help ensure you're on track with TAP certification:

  • Thursday, January 23, 1pm - 2pm (Toyon Room)
  • Wednesday, January 29, 12pm - 1pm (President's Conference Room)
  • Friday, February 7, 12pm - 1pm (Hearthside Lounge)

Foothill College Research and Service Leadership Symposium

Research and Service Leadership Symposium / RSL Symposium Mission Statement: The mission of this symposium is to catalyze student efforts to engage in scholarly research and service leadership projects.The guiding value of this symposium is that meaningful change in the world can be accomplished through empirical investigation, community engagement, and social, political and environmental activism.

What type of projects qualify?

Research . Any type of research project from any discipline. Research with original data is welcome, as is research you did for a research paper in any of your classes. You do NOT need to have original data to apply.

Service Leadership Projects . Service leadership, community engagement, political activism, or environmental justice projects are all welcome.

Projects in the Arts . Photography, paintings, drawings, graphic design, ceramics, and poetry.

Applications are due Friday 3/13 (week 10 winter quarter).  Students from the top 5 best/most impactful projects will be awarded $100.

Community Campus Involvement Opportunities
We recognize that many honors students are currently involved with various campus activities or groups that may offer opportunities for service leadership experiences or contributions to the Foothill College community. If you are interested in recruiting students for your clubs, campus events, and/or other leadership opportunities that are available to your fellow students on campus, please send us information so we can feature your particular organization or event in our newsletter.
